I am brain building another project fj45. I am considering putting a set of 80 series axles under it using a narrow set of fj60 stock rims. I am interested in what stock width 80 axles look like on a 40 series. Please post pictures if you have them and list wheel size and back spacing.

I searched the thread and Google but only found one example of an fj40 on stock width 80 axles. I am sure there must be more.

No one?

I know a guy who did it, had really deep offset wheels, 37's, SOA. Looked ok, not too wide.

You can search hdj45, might help.
One of the cool examples is a HDJ45 from Germany

Buschtaxi.net • Nr3 HDJ45

It’s in German (google translate could help), but the owner mentioned that he used Nissan rims (without specifications) and 9.00 R15 tires.
This is the narrowest version from all HDJ45 I found in the internet.

Majority of other HDJ45 are “wide” based on standard hdj80 rims

HDJ 80 + HJ45 = a unique HDJ 45 -

Good luck to your project

Thanks for all the links.

Here are a couple more i found.

80 suspension and axles under a 40 1/2 way there

Rebuild 74 FJ40 RHD from Down Under - 2F to 2H to 12HT - 40 series Axles with 80 series Coils

What I am really wanting to see is what full width 80 axles look like. I also want to use the 80 suspension, so I want to see how others went about adapting it to a 40 series frame.

Most of the links above used a 80 series frame. I think that is the best route to go but I don't have that luxury now, so I am looking to add the stock width 80 axles and suspension under a 45 frame.
