For those of you with stock vehicles and some anxiety, it may make you feel more at ease to know that I'll be taking my stock truck with the running boards installed. They may get bent up or scratched up a little but probably not if you go on the more mild roads/trails. The most important thing I would suggest is getting at least some All-Terrain tires to improve grip.

Where is the main camping area going to be? My reason for asking is I would be hauling in a tent trailer since I'll have small kids and pregnant wife coming along as well!

I'm just trying to figure how access to main camp is.

Thanks for any info you guys can get me!

Paulo

Jonathan can speak more on trailer access, but I think he's gonna say the camp spot is super dooper secret for now. ;)

^ This. Camp is not going to be publicly posted as it's a special kind of place. I will send PMs to all participants with the Lat Long and directions from Ouray as we get closer to the trip. You can get just about any kind of camper up there. I wouldn't drive a 40' pusher up but I wouldn't hesitate to bring any small pull behind. It is a dirt road but pretty well maintained and does not get muddy when wet.

I think I may have just talked the wife into this. I usually take my son to the southern cruiser crawl in September but I have really been wanting to get out to Ouray. Pencil me in for a definite maybe.

Really looking forward to this, I will be bringing my two girls ages 7 and 8. Stock 100 series should be good to go for most of the trails in that area.

This will be my wife's first adventure and my daughter (8) but my son (13) is becoming a regular.

Looking into logistics.

Really liking how this is shaping up!

Anybody coming from LA, AR, MS, TX, GA, etc, PM and maybe we can meet up and caravan up there.

I will be coming from Houston, but the week before will be camping Big Bend and Taos with a stop at Mesa Verde.

Hmmm, EMSPowered is going to be at FJSUMMIT shortly before this. Should we come back for 100's in the Hills? :)

I'll send you a PM when I can confirm 100%. This is getting closer and closer and I have had a few expenses on the 100, and just got a new apartment. My move in is the same dates as the trip, I don't have to move those dates, I can post pone it. As it stands I am still on the list for coming, however if finances don't work out by the end of the summer I am buying a plane ticket to Denver and will ride with somebody.

WOW....this is really getting a lot of likely participants. I am trying now to get Schottttzzz to come out to be the events master of ceremonies...wish me luck.

You should! Sending an email shortly.

Working on updating the list of potentials and committed. If it's anything like most trips we will have 2 people actually show up. :flipoff2:

I'm pumped!

Drive 12 hours Tues the 30th, sleep, then 12 more hours Wed, and we're there. Thursday for set up, recharge, some wondering around, and then its all day on the trails Fri, Sat, and Sun.

Just let me know. I'd really like to find another truck to make the trip with...that's a long drive solo.

My wife and I are a definite maybe as well, coming from the San Diego area.
