3FE in a fj40. What will be better?

ya its on my 40, i think i room to unbolt the tranny but im not sure, has anyone done it?

i figed that o well, i hope this weekend ill have it out

well i got the head off and DAM it was burning oil, and i found a nice groove the 1st cylinder which turns out the a CRACK, so now im in need of a 2f block.

I too am jumping on the 2FE bandwagon, in my FJ40. I acquired almost everything recently minus ECU and o2 sensors/wiring for less than $200 (including the head). After looknig at the restrictive MAF, and need to have 2 O2 sensors, I am figuring it may be easier to go with the Megasquirt EFI wiring layout. It will eliminate the factory (expensive to replace) MAF, allow for cheap and single O2 sensor. De-smogging shouldn't effect the operation either. To boot it can be tweaked with a laptop computer. Drawback is that it probably isn't C.A.R.B. legal. This makes it for most a trail only option, but having my rig registered in Missisippi I should be okay. There are other systems for EFI conversions on the market, but they hover around the $1000 range. Megasquirt is less than $300.

Has anyone had the injectors professionally cleaned prior to running theirs (either straight 3FE or 2FE swap)? Would it be beneficial to do?

Lets get it on... I need some motivation to start my swap... I now have TWO different injections systems ready to install on my Cruiser (complete 3FE & complete TBI system), neither of which I have been too motivated to do... ;)

Yeah, and here's a place to have it done, R C Engineering http://www.rceng.com/. Some have also had the throttle body bored and claim an improvement. I think RC Engineering can also do the TB if you want. Also with the injectors, they're not only cleaned but flow tested and balanced and you'll recieve a data sheet on their flow rates.

I've got mine sitting on a palet in the warehouse ready to go in. I want to help JP get his in and then do mine so I know what the hell I'm doing.

Nope, I may sell the entire setup (rebuilt TBI unit, harness, Smythe adapter, all new sensors, JTR speed sensor, Caddy air filter)... But that is to be determined ;)
