Got a question I can't find the answer to. The OEM fuel pump I bought from Toyota to put on my 1F (9/71) is the same number as the one needed for the 2f (1/75) that I've since rebuilt and will be using.

The issue I'm having is on the intake side, the threaded portion used on the 1F didn't have the oil filter bracket directly behind it. The 2F has clearance issues. It looks like there is a place where the fittings may go so that the fitting comes out at an angle, but no threads in the hole.

Does anyone know the fix for this? Thanks, Eric

Just guessing here since i don't know what you are holding in your hand. Does the 2F fuel pump need the spacer so you can get it spaced out or it is as simple as using the 45degree elbow nipple to make everything work?

It looks like some pumps have the fitting pointing out at an angle. I have ordered some stuff to "make do," but if I can do it right, I'd prefer it

I've got a 90 deg fiting on my fuel pump (2F) on the outlet side (towards the front of the engine). I can't remember how close the inlet is to the oilfilter peice but it's close. I'll take a look tomorrow and see where the inlet is and how it's fitted.

Here are a few of mine with 2F's.

Some have the "Pancake" style pump, which I'm sure you have. Some have the FJ60 vintage 2F pump with three nipples.

exactly. My fitting is in the hole closer to the engine. Mine is the pancake. I guess I was mis-informed (twice) by the dealership. Really sucks because mine is all painted up now and guessing I cant take it back.

Eric, the guts on both pumps are identical, so.....I can send you a shell from the newer pump you need [happy to find a good home for one;)] and you can put the upper shell from it onto your base, then all will be well.

Mark, once again your the man! That would be great. I found the pulleys we were talking about so, when you get the check go ahead and send the bracket. If you don't mind, throw the fuel pump housing in there also. I can either send you my new one, painted all pretty silver. Or send another check. The new engine is almost done. Time to get the body work done and drive this sucker!

great info, now I have to go search for my own nipples

Have a site that has tons of metric stuff including the bpt. They may have nipple fitting also. It is Metricmcc.com I got all my bolts yellow zinc and misc fittings from them. Not way overpriced either. But there was a $25 min.

The fuel pump can be taken apart and rotated. that is what I did with mine.

Not sure how that would work. It would rotate the discharge into the block. Or at least it looks that way

Check? Check? What is this check thing you speak of? The pump is FREE!! I will box it up tomorrow.;)

I sent a check for the sag power steering pump bracket. Let me know if you don't get it by Wed.
