Looking for a running 2f, preferably complete. I purchase a 71 FJ40 with an "F" and a rod knock...... I'm new to the FJ40 world and new to the forum so please forgive me if I've missed a search result somewhere. I can't find sources for a rebuilt 2f anywhere under $4k.... The one place I did find has poor customer reviews. I'm wondering if anything is available as a private sale..... I am located in West Texas.

I've got an F.5 out of a 74 generally complete in Des Moines I'd sell for $500 or so... unknown miles but I think a good engine - ran when pulled for a part out

I have a 76 2F that I know very little about. It actually is attached to the factory 4 speed and transfer case. It runs and drives and it doesn't smoke. It has been painted. I don't know if that means it has been rebuilt at some point or not. I'd sell it complete for $1250 and you'd have to arrange shipping. I no longer do freight shipments in my name due to pick up issues on the other end. I do have access to a forklift and have a business address so that saves quite a bit.

Are you looking for a long block or complete engine carb to oil pan? Thanks.
Block with head is all I need. I have manifolds and oil pan / valve cover etc... I've got a running f but it's knockin pretty good and I have bearing material with fuel in the oil ...... I think it's terminal.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind - I'm really looking for a 2f that's running.......

This might be the ticket..... Not sure about needing the transfer case. I'm new to this stuff but isn't that where the fitment issues come into play? Forgive my ignorance I've read so much about this swap and that swap it's kinda jumbled in my head.... Time to start hammering on something. Shipping shouldn't be a problem if you can get it on a pallet....where would they be shipping from?

No problem to get a pallet. Yes the 4 speed to 3 speed transfer case is sort of the old school hot ticket and it takes a bearing and plate to adapt from what I can remember. I haven't worked on one that way in over 15 years.
