your set up with H55F, 3.7 gears and 33" skinnies would probably return quite impressive results both in top end and in fuel economy...

Running a H55F with 4.56 gears and 35's fuel economy is about to be checked as I just bolted back in my colour GPS, but not a great issue it was never built for economy. :D

i realize you never built your truck for fuel economy but i suspect this setup for highway use and 3.7s woudl make for a very drivable and yet (for a 2F) fuel efficient design..

OK so far.

The locker in my FJ40 according to the ARB installation guide is a RD02.
Part No 160305 which is no longer available.
The issue now is the ARB part list supplied with my locker is in correct the part required was 160705 which as it happens is available.

The issue I now have is I spent all the extra upgrading my locker to the latest set up for no reason other than an incorrect parts list. :mad:

That really hurts, $$$ for no reason. With mine I ended up repairng the RD33 seal housing with a new tube etc, hopefully droping it off for rebuild soon, I think its pretty poor that they dont support a locker thats 5 or so years old
 
OK an update,

The Tial connection from the plenum had come lose so boost pressure was slightly up I think this may have been the cause for the blown head gasket, going lean as the AFR went out.

It's hard looking at the boost gauge and point a 40 down the road :D

Another issue is the valve seat is missing for the wastegate, this was noticed while MPC who did the exhaust work made a few minor repairs to their work.
Lets just say Nylocks hmmm.

Now I'm not sure wether this is something that was never there and never noticed before or something they lost while fixing the exhaust. I'm not even sure if it's something you have to dismantle to remove or something that will just fall out if your not paying attention and roll away.
Performance is down a little I feel but that can be attributed to the fixing of the connection from the plenum and having the original boost again.

So today I ordered a new valve seat $26 once that's installed I will put her back on the DYNO and see how it compares to the old. If the valve seat was missing the Turbo will spool up much faster with even less lag, though there was never much to notice in my opinion.

Oh and yes I'm going to wind the boost up to 10PSI now :D once the wastegate is fixed.

CAT do some special nut/bolt sets for the turbos on their engines, the end of the nut is slightly pinched and locks the fixing - no wastgates though :p other thing is they don't come in metric :frown:.

Going back today the exhaust is leaking again :mad:

there called fuji nuts work great i have them holding the turbo onto my manifold

catch is most joints dont stock them and you need to buy 50 of them
 
The nuts we have just a few minor issues to sort and then more boost and dyno time.

Well the valve seat is now in place, and boy does it make a differance, acceleration is much quicker as boost is comming on sooner and lower down. Before it was quick now it's insane :D

They problem with the exhauste leak has been resolved and hopefully will not be an issue again.

Booked in on the 15th Dec for some work on the Dyno and 12 PSI though after todays play with the wastegate working I'm not so sure. It's scary now :cool:

It will be interesting to see the difference on the Dyno print out with and without the valve set in palce.
