I can turn it off but I do such a mix of driving that I forget to. No excuse on my end. Honestly, it’s hands down the best suv I’ve owned in terms of comfort and quality interior. The cockpit is like a well insulated bank vault. Maybe I just need a bigger garage. 🤣 Dammit, still miss my 200 🥺

LOL i turned off my lane assist vibration in my 570, im lewis hamilton on these streets 🤣

That sounds terrifying in a 570. 👹 I guess it would handle turns better in a 570 vs 200 if it automatically adjusts the suspension based on driving. You would love the roads here in East TN. Just rolling hills with endless turns. Not far from the legendary dragon road. Nothing in America beats it. HAH, actually in sport+ stiff its mind blowingly good for 6,500 lbs and corners like a champ.

You know what Angelo you miss the 200 LC but from reading your stuff, if you got into an 16+ LX with a proper fitment (not the 21" oem setup) i think you would find your happy place. Carplay can be added, has minimal nannies, its the M5 of SUVs when considering on/off road, and is basically an off road S class.

Weve got a fair share of windy hilly roads around here, not much but enough to engage a driver. The fact that i can do it effortlessly actually was a bit of a shock to me coming from the 100 series. Where i could encroach on the 100 limits in handling, i am confident in the 200. Despite weight increase and all. AHC overhaul was great of Lexus to do and that is the one thing i am excited most on the LX 600. Dual stage rear dampers.

The LX 600 AHC system is now "complete".

Thanks, I may go test drive a newer LX570. It’s been sometime sense I drove one, which I believe was a 2014. The one thing I wasn’t super thrilled about with any 200 I owned was the drivers seat. I prefer more support of the thigh as I don’t have short legs and appreciate more side bolstering. Obviously not a deal killer with the 200 as I keep buying them. The LX is definitely a Swiss Army knife I should really look into. If I end up deciding on an LX, I’ll wait for the 600 to hit showroom floors to help drive down the value of the lx570. I can’t deal with not having a split gate as I use my hitch almost daily for my mountain bike. Full cargo door would be a real pain. If it had a roll down rear window that would be ok with me.

I don’t know much about boats but I’ve never had a luxury ride from Bentley, BWM, Land Rover, Merc, Audi that has ever left me stranded in my 30yrs of owning vehicles. The biggest disappointment was my Land Rover but it never left me on the side of the road. Granted I have seen them on flatbeds. I think paying a big premium for the LC/LX legendary reliability is great for long term(8+yrs) owners. Otherwise, the fear of being stranded should be more of a concern for the very few who actually go remote and in the U.S that’s getting really rare to find and I mean not being able to have cell service to have an off-road tow service company to get you. Australia, Middle East, SA and Africa is where the LC/Hilux are worth every penny.

I would agree with Bentley for sure. I have never had an issue that has left me stranded on the 20 years I’ve driven them. Range Rover / Land Rover? Many times, so much so, across multiple vehicles, I vowed never to buy another no matter how much my wife pressures me.

Audi? Same bad luck. Allroad, RS4 - all with catastrophic repairs before 75k miles. We did have a solid 2003 RS6. All bought new.

My old Volvo XC70 D5 that I keep in Iceland has never had an issue.

My wife has a BMW X5 M50. No issues but my wife won’t let me program myself as a user so a lot of features are on autopilot when I drive.

I would drive my any of my LCs from here to anywhere in the Americas with no hesitation. I don't trust anything else for that use case.

Definitely don’t disagree. If I had to pick one vehicle to keep for the next 8+yrs the LC or possibly the LX would be the winner.

Just watching the TFL crew deal with their new defender made my stomach turn in disgust.

They are a pile of rubble. A guy down the street bought a new Defender V8. I think it’s rolling on 22” or 23” wheels from the looks of it. Just looks silly. I don’t get it.

I like the looks of them from the rear but there's no way I'd ever trust in one.

On another note, their POS Bronco was having problems too.

This saddens me. I have high hopes for that platform as a possible purchase in a few years.

They have had real problems with the hard top roof as why most you see have soft tops. Not the end of the World. Not sure about other problems it may or may not have. The new Raptor is pretty dang impressive though.

I've had both a first and second gen Raptor, I just never clicked with the platform but I've never really cared for a half-ton truck either. It's HD trucks and off-road worthy SUV's for me and maybe one day a GT3.

Thought the soft tops were leaking in rain etc? Either way, lackluster R&D and poor quality craftsmanship are both apparent. There were some pictures of snapped tie rods on stock setups already. One look underneath and it’s not even as beefy as the 120/150 Toyota platform.

I wouldn’t own anything as wide as the Raptor here in E.TN as our roads and off-road trails are very narrow once you get off the hwy and frontage road. Pretty damn disappointed with new LX not having the split gate as Toyota went the cost saving route. However, it appears the updates might help overlook the rear gate. I still plan on test driving one when available. Good chance I’ll hold out for another 200 when prices settle down.

They probably are. But Ford has a recall on every single hardtop and stopped putting them on Broncos until fixed. I would hate to be stuck with a leaky soft top in the winter.

Yea the tops are made by Webasto and the tolerances weren't very good leading to leaks and creaking from movement. I have seen broken tie rods on lifted Broncos and those running larger meats but when you see how small they are it's not hard to imagine them failing on a stock truck as well.

I too was sad to see that that they dropped the split gate on the 300 but it definitely does make sense from a cost savings standpoint and I don't know how popular or well received they are beyond us LC enthusiasts if I am being realistic. It's a shame that it doesn't have the roll down rear glass either as that's a huge perk to the 4Runner platform and easily could have been done on the 300 with the more traditional lift gate. But at the end of the day at least you can relish in the fact that it has a lift gate and not a swing gate like the GX.

Agree! That swing gate is horrible. I bet they ditch it in the 2024 redesign.
