Sheesh, the Magnaflow is not THAT loud... you only really hear it on acceleration, at cruise you don't hear it unless you concentrate on it. I ride trails with the windows down whenever dust conditions permit, and exhaust noise just isn't an issue, just a mellow throb when you use the accelerator.
😂 ^^^ = an entire segment of the "car culture" that will be lost to history in 15 years as we switch to electric... "Daddy, what's exhaust, and why did people pay money to make it sound different???"

Nah, it will still be around... but it might not be mainstream by then.

I've been hearing (pun intended) that there's been some electric Formula (?) races and they haven't been going over all that well because of the lack of engine sounds.
Instead of rev up shifts, ref down shifts and everything in between, the only thing to be heard is "swoosh" and of course any skidding of tires.
But it's just not the same seeing a car whiz by you at almost 200 mph and all you hear is Swoosh!

You should hear the spaceship noise my RAV4 Prime puts out when on EV drive mode. LOL That's what the kids will be modifying in the future guaranteed.

What, does it do the Jetsons noise?

Dude it’s close. It doesn’t pulse like the Jetsons car but the pitch could be close. I’m trying to figure out how I can make it louder. The daughter gets a kick out of it.

Find out where the "noise" is coming from, get one of those little karaoke machines and stick the mic next to the noise and mount the speaker, well, wherever you want it heard!

Oh I know where the speaker is, I just need to know if the wiring can handle a second one connected to it. I’ll probably double the fuse amp. Other owners are trying to remove the noise so I hope I can get the second part for free or low cost.

Been on the road for a couple weeks! It's been awesome.

I started the trip south to AZ by camping outside Ellensburg WA after work. The next day pointed it south with the goal of landing just north of Vegas in a state park for second nights camp. I made all my mileage goals for the first day, 14 1/2 hours behind the wheel around 900 miles. The best part was not being beat up by the long drive. The GX rules for on road comfort!

Absolutely agree with how you feel after a day behind the wheel.
When my wife and I did our "lobster hunt" up to Maine in 2020, we did 1,000 mile days and after a little stiffness from just sitting so long, in a minute or two I was fine! I always look forward to long drives in my rig, whether it's a road trip or just the weekend overlanding with our club.
That would never have happened in a Taco!

No, my Taco seats sucked from day 1 brand new!

I made it to Quartzite AZ after two days of driving. In Quartzite there is a laundromat, Main Street Laundry. The are a general laundromat, laundry service and private shower. After a few days on the road I was ready for a shower! They charge 10 bucks but totally worth it! Clean, fresh towel and soap/shampoo.

I after stocking up with food, beer and fuel I headed east of town a bit to join the folks from American Adventurist. AAV is another forum I'm on. I was invited to work the event Saturday and demonstrate Safe Xtract recovery equipment Safe-Xtract® - https://www.safe-xtract.com/ with the owner of SX and President of the International 4 Wheel Drive Trainers Association.

The event is typical of most overlandy events. Training demos, cooking competition, campfire and product raffles.

The moon rise was spectacular!

Looks like good times, great memories!

After the American Adventurist Rendezvous the real trip began. I realize many of you may have completed the Mojave Road but for us Washington residence its a bucket list trail.

I met my business partner in Laughlin NV and we headed west just to get out view of town and found a camp. The Mojave Road is a very easy two track just be aware it is remote and has no water available and camping is privative with no facilities or bathrooms. Pack it in pack it out 100%!

The Mojave Road if taken at a very casual pace could take 3 days end to end. We completed it in a day in a half. The winds were super strong and temps in the low 50s, a bit chilly.

We made our way west using FunTreks guide book and downloaded there GPS tracks. Be sure to use a paper map as well. Use the paper map to find the cool camp spots. We found a lava flow that had been eroded and offered a bit of wind protection.

The next day the wind had died down a bit but was still annoying and the temps had dipped to near freezing overnight, the weather had certainly changed!

We passed through the Mojave whoops (long section of whoop te doos) and down to Soda Lake, we were a bit concerned not knowing what the previous weeks weather had been and was unsure of the lake condition. We spaced out as not to get two trucks stuck at the same time. It turned out the lake bed was good and dry and had no issues. On the west, southwest side of the lake the wind had really blown the sand around and following the two track was difficult. Having the GPS tracks and driving IFR was super useful.

We meandered down the Mojave River bed and crossed the deep end on the trail and exited the Mojave Road near Rasor Rd onto the 15 freeway.

I happen to be on the freeway yesterday and was happy to record 68-69 db @ 70 mph. So with the seats removed and the soundener and foam installed I am back to what was previously observed in factory form.

Once the sleep platform/drawer is installed confidence is high that the noise level will lower. Hoping for the mid 60s db @ 70 mph.
I'm confused, so the sound level was unchanged after installing the sound deadener?
