Replaced air filters today, while in engine bay I noticed this directly hooked to battery. Anyone know what it is?

That is an in-line fuse. As for what it's fusing, you'll have to trace the wire to find out. Someone installed something aftermarket in your car.

Ikon tracking device. I guess dealers use these in lot management? No idea, but no longer connected.
