I like to plan a trip around my birthday in July. It was a good trip mild trails a good disconnect from the daily grind.
We camped near Mazama WA for a few nights making a day trip up to Slate Peak. The highest road in WA.
Moved on to Chopoka Lake, the last camp on the WABDR, then on to a camp near Republic WA. From there we rolled southwest through the Colville Reservation where we spotted a brown bear crossing the road.
We passed by Grand Coulee Dam and followed the Columbia River for a bit to Ellensburg WA then headed out to West Bar on the Columbia River for a quiet beach spot.
