There are just so many little parts to blast and prime!
Can anybody tell me what the two parts are in the bottom pic? Winner gets a surprise.

Stumped

Oh crap bar?

nope. i have a stock ocrap bar for a 64 nothing like that.. jack holder? that is the only thing i can think of that wasn't in my truck.

Factory soft top catch?

How about some sort of hook to keep the bifold rear door up? Since i have never seen a bifold rear hatch that would be my final guess.

ONE piece i have Never seen in person.. and I have played stump the chump with Marv Spector for hours when he was alive.. Very cool piece of history, thank you for sharing. I would like to see the completed product sometime.

You know your in a real tight spot when you have to start drilling anchor points for the winch....

My cummins died on me last week still trouble shooting.

Made good use of the long weekend-
1. The 80 was leaking Birf soup around the driver side hub - replaced that inner axle seal, added a gasket I forgot last time and upgraded to drilled/slotted rotors and 100 series pads.
2. Fitted the front doors on the 40 and rebuilt the door limiters with parts from SOR. Pretty slick kit.
3. Hung the barn doors, license plate holder, and rear emblems on the 40. Really glad I took detailed measurements and photos before cutting up the back end for new quarters.
4. Metal worked and blasted a bunch more small parts for the 40 - to be primed in grey this week, since they'll get painted pewter as original.
5. Enjoyed a couple hours with several TAC members at Cars & Coffee (last one for the year). Have to start meeting for beer on Saturdays soon!

Mitch and I picked up a set of seats out of a 2014 Audi A4 S-line to install in his LX. We cut the legs off a donor set of LC seats (thanks @2fpower) and welded up an adapter out of 3" x 3/16" flat bar to weld to the amputated legs. Deciphered the wiring needs and sourced the matching Audi car-side plugs to make a clean install for the movement and heat functions and adapted early 2000's Audi heated seat switches placed in the coin slots on the center console...all functions work as they should. We chose the mounting height based on the seat bottomed out in adjustment rather than set artificially low and raise the seat via electric adjustment. This was done to minimize the non-stock appearance as much of the seats architecture is visible when looking in thru an open door.

No mods to the seats were necessary but we will cut off the factory seat belt anchors still shown on these pics. The seat rails are spaced at 21" which is considerably wider than the stock setup. The only mod needed for the LX was to take a BFH to a hump across the trans tunnel to allow the seat to be moved closer to the center of the rig. We chose to center the seats on the steering wheel but ended up with enough room to move them further in if deemed necessary. This will also allow Mitch to reinstall his aftermarket filler armrest in the large gap between the driver's seat and console. We chose to retain the Audi seat belt receivers which required a slight massaging of width on the LX buckles. We experimented with the removed 3rd row belts first and my wife happens to have an S5 which allowed for a good comparison prior to the change.

The color match is quite close to the Lexus leather on the back seats but his console pad is darker for some reason. The first pic shows a seat on the garage floor with an LX rear headrest sitting on the bottom. We replaced console pad in the past so I'm thinking it must have been from an LC. Comfort improvement is obvious but the ability to move the seat further back makes my life as a co-pilot much more bearable. I think I could actually ride in his rig quite a distance now.

Looks awesome Mitchdave.

Looks awesome. Were you scared using that BFH? I recall having to POUND on that spot to get it to move!

I disconnected the battery, as I was scared I would set off the airbags.

Not Scurred but we did manually trip all the breakers on the dual batt setup prior. Once we were done on each side we brought everything back online to verify all systems were a go. Mitch was more scared about shorting out something in the audio system. I didn't even think about the airbags...i was concerned about something in the rinky-dink factory alarm rendering the rig unable to start. I think it was about a net even weight exchange because the pounding knocked off about 10lbs of hidden dirt the sprinkler had been missing.
