Winner. How about some sort of hook to keep the bifold rear door up? Since i have never seen a bifold rear hatch that would be my final guess.
Looks awesome Mitchdave.Mitch and I picked up a set of seats out of a 2014 Audi A4 S-line to install in his LX. We cut the legs off a donor set of LC seats (thanks @2fpower) and welded up an adapter out of 3" x 3/16" flat bar to weld to the amputated legs. Deciphered the wiring needs and sourced the matching Audi car-side plugs to make a clean install for the movement and heat functions and adapted early 2000's Audi heated seat switches placed in the coin slots on the center console...all functions work as they should. We chose the mounting height based on the seat bottomed out in adjustment rather than set artificially low and raise the seat via electric adjustment. This was done to minimize the non-stock appearance as much of the seats architecture is visible when looking in thru an open door.
No mods to the seats were necessary but we will cut off the factory seat belt anchors still shown on these pics. The seat rails are spaced at 21" which is considerably wider than the stock setup. The only mod needed for the LX was to take a BFH to a hump across the trans tunnel to allow the seat to be moved closer to the center of the rig. We chose to center the seats on the steering wheel but ended up with enough room to move them further in if deemed necessary. This will also allow Mitch to reinstall his aftermarket filler armrest in the large gap between the driver's seat and console. We chose to retain the Audi seat belt receivers which required a slight massaging of width on the LX buckles. We experimented with the removed 3rd row belts first and my wife happens to have an S5 which allowed for a good comparison prior to the change.
The color match is quite close to the Lexus leather on the back seats but his console pad is darker for some reason. The first pic shows a seat on the garage floor with an LX rear headrest sitting on the bottom. We replaced console pad in the past so I'm thinking it must have been from an LC. Comfort improvement is obvious but the ability to move the seat further back makes my life as a co-pilot much more bearable. I think I could actually ride in his rig quite a distance now.
