View attachment 1116976 This new Tacoma does not look bad; who is in charge over there?????
Nice!!!! I'll make sure to be thereHahahaha
The lead Land Cruiser engineer is going to be at CruiserFest this year. Come on out and see what he has to say!
POI. On the Toyota US website under "upcoming vehicles" , it shows a few faced lifted 2016 models but no mention of the Landcruiser
In that pic ^ i only see the fully loaded interior???
They always made standard models of the LC! Its just the US never got them, i mean sure back in the the days of the 80/100 you got some without sunroofs/rear ac and cloth seats but still not really base if you compare world wide.
Well said.I doubt the US would ever get a 'bare bones' 200/300 series LC. It would be neat to have an option delete one that could be special ordered, but alas...
Looking at prices around the world, a base LC appears to sell around $50k-$55k (usd). Perhaps someone can correct me on that, I just sampled various countries prices and converted to USD.
So, a vinyl land cruiser for $50k. The issue is that the Sequoia already takes that price range, and it has a few options. The cheapest 4wd Sequoia is ~$49-$50k, and has the 5.7l engine. The Sequoia, a larger vehicle, built on a similar frame, with arguably more expensive IRS & better ride - for a few grand less - it would be a hard sell for the LC.
As for value, the Tundra can't be beat. It's amazing that you can get similar underpinnings as the LC, for around $38k (4wd, double cab w/ 5.7). The interest fact is that the Tacoma is not that far off of the Tundra price - for a *much* lighter built vehicle.
I think we're living in the past in regards to what we *wished* the LC was here. Reading comments (tacoma world) about the new (2016) Tacoma, there are quite a few posts about how the Tacoma should be more upscale because cheaper vehicles offer leather, push button start, sun roof, leather, pearl paint, etc... Makes me feel out of place in this world.
... by the way does anyone know if the 70 that was on sale in Japan had airbags??? would they bring that state side? or would it at the 4runner's sales. Honestly we are all just wishing here Toyota does what it wants
