Switching from a GX to an LX and wanted to get some opinions on some rusty areas on a vehicle that was registered in California most of its life but being sold in Nebraska. I've got no issues repairing the areas, just asking if this rust is too much for what it is? TIA, Rian

Overall, not bad at all and shouldn't give you any issues (even AHC lines) in its current condition if you treat it/fluid film. If it's ever seen salt in the winter things up front like tow hooks/control arms would be the first to show it.

Looking at your first pic, the transfer case cover looks really new and may have been replaced/painted as that gets rusty first. Looking at your last pic, it's possible that the front skids/tow hooks have been replaced when I see the bolts on your suspension.

There is much worse out there. Obviously this is not a Southwest vehicle its whole life but not many are.

Rian,

Best name you have. (it means King)

Rust is like cancer - any of it is bad

But I wanted to say congrats on seeing the light and getting rid of your Prado and joining the big boy REAL land cruiser ownership.

Best feeling in the world to be the king of the road with the KING name you have
