I am new to the forum and to owning an LC. Bought my first one in May. It's a new 2014, black ext, black int. I traded a 2004 Sequoia Limited 4WD for it and have not been let down so far.

Shortly after purchase i discovered a fuel consumption graph within the touch screen computer to show consumption over time. Mine only had data for that day of driving. I noticed the date was not set. Believe is shows --/--/--. I assumed this was an easy fix by going into the clock/time settings to set a "global" date. WRONG. After looking in all the menus and the owners manual I found nothing about setting a date.

During the next visit to dealer for oil change, I asked the SM and he went through the same menus I did and came up with nothing. Told me to call 800 customer service number. I did and they couldn't figure it out either. They ended up giving me a case number and said they'd call with an answer. I still haven't heard anything and that was about a month ago.

I had almost forgotten about it until the recent change in daylight savings time. My LC didn't change even though it is set for correct time zone and to adjust for DST automatically. It donned on me that it couldn't change automatically because it doesn't know the date.

With that reminder, I would love to solve the case of the missing date setting. Anyone have an answer or any ideas?

THank you very much!

Is the GPS functionality of the head unit working? The date is a critical piece of info for the calculations for position to work correctly. I believe the date is actually encoded in the GPS signal and the head unit should set the date based upon this signal. Do you have the clock set to use the GPS time signal to set it?

I don't know about your date issue, but regarding the DST setting you can turn DST on and off but it is not automatic. This was recently discussed in another thread.

elkaholic - thank you for the response. The GPS functionality is working without issue and I have the clock set to update automatically.

Cabinetman - i now understand what the DST setting is designed to do. So date would be irrelevant for it's function.

The location of the blank date is if you press the "Info" button and then on that screen there is a "Fuel MPG" button you press to get to the graph.

I know where you are looking. One other place to look is the spot on the head unit where you can setup service reminders by date and mileage. If that fails, I am thinking that something did not get initialized when the dealer prepped it for sale.

Or .... Can you post a screen shot of the fuel graph? Unless you "save" the fuel consumption by resetting the fuel consumption on the central instrument cluster display, there will ONLY be a bar on the current date on that particular fuel economy history page.

Brilliant!!! I always wondered why the dates on the Fuel Consumption info page appeared random :bang:

2014TeeLC:

With the ignition switch ON, scroll your central info display (between your gauges on the dashboard) with the DISP button on your steering wheel until you see the display titled "Average." You should see a "XX.X MPG" number. While that Average display is showing, press and hold the DISP button on your steering wheel until the display changes to "0.0 MPG."

Now press the Info button on your Nav unit and select the Fuel Consumption graph. It should display a bar with what was the Average MPG displayed on your central display with today's date below it.

If that didn't work, then something is wrong.

HTH
