I have a fair amount of trimming and melting of the plastic on my 200 series(2014). I have had the OME for the last 4 years and just upgraded to the Bilstien 6112 and 5160. I also have mthod 701 18” wheels with 18 offset. I don’t think I can get anything bigger than my current 275/65/18 tires on, current tires are close to rubbing as is. What am I doing wrong?

My guess would be its the wheel offset. I have +25 offset on my wheels and 285/65/18 and it ever so slightly rubs in reverse at full lock. The tire is also very close to the body under full articulation.

Offset. Quick answer is an offset between +30-40mm is golden range to maximize fitment of the largest tires in the wheel well. Lots of people use +25, but that's for narrow 285s. For meaty tires beyond that, it's still too low IMO. For example, I'm running 35x12.5s with +35s.

Stock is +60. Need some less offset to make room on the inside. Beyond that, it creates more problems than it solves because of tire swing. There's also compromises to handling and traction because of how it impacts scrub radius and suspension geometries.

This video should help to explain things

Yes, I’m running 275x65x18 on +25 offset. I want to go 275x70x18 but the current setup is pretty tight. I’m wondering if I need to change caster angle or something else

@Tex68w,
Did you ever install your 275/70/18 KO2’s on the stock wheels?

I’m going to need new tires soon and have a stock suspension and am considering these tires (or the KO3’s if they come out in time).

Can you say how much “poke” you get/got?
I want to keep it flush because my dog has his head out of the window whenever I’m going slow on dirt roads and I don’t want anything flung at him.

Yes, I ran it like that with 1.25” Spidertrax wheel spacers for the first two years. Tires were right to the edge of the fender, it kept them in the wheel wells, but just barely. Without the wheel spacers they sat too far inboard for my taste.

Well I made it trough 114 pages and kinda think I know a direction I want to go.. I'm looking at the New:

Rebound Pro / Bronze

In Stock

price: $369.99 $314.49 15% off

sku : 21817855557BR

Size: 17x8.50

Weight: 32 Pounds

Bolt Pattern: 5x150

Offset: 25mm

Backspacing: 5.750"

Bore: 110.10mm

I have a 2019 LC200 with the Factory 1" lift 43136-60020 X2 getting installed in a few weeks and I guess I'm still not sure about the Scrub Radius with these Icons with a off set of 25MM vs the Factory off set ? I'm a NO wheel spacer guy and plan on running the Toyo Open Country A/T III in 285/70 r17 which seem to have good reviews here and want to stay in the stock range as the 18'' rims but with a 17 so I can have a little more side wall..

I'm not sure I saw this listed but is the Bore Diameter 110.10 on the 200 Series ?

Any Pic's of these new wheels on a 200 Series ?

I picked up those same exact wheels. I just tried to have tires mounted at Big-O this morning, but the locking pins scared them away...haha. As soon as I can get them mounted up, I will post a pic.

Muchas gracias for the information.

I wound up going with this:
- Alpha Equipt 17" x 8.5"
- +35 Offset
- Falken Wildpeak R/T 01 in 255/80R17. (Falken measures these as 33.3 diameter and 10.3 width)
- Westcott Designs Preload lift (1.75" rear, 3" front)
- Removed mudflaps
- Removed running boards

I'll say that the steering feel going to such a skinny tire is significantly more twitchy, and with the higher center of gravity don't love it.

I'm considering moving up to 285/75R17, which Falken lists as 34.1 diameter and 11.5 width. My question to the mind hive is do we think or know that the increase in diameter will require a BMC, KDSS relocate, UCA swap, etc etc? I'm not adding much over factory width of 11.2 and I've pushed the wheels out 25 mm so I'm not sure what to think
Updating this for future readers/researchers.

New specs:
- Alpha Equipt 17" x 8.5"
- +35 Offset
- Falken Wildpeak R/T 01 in 285/75R17 C rating. (Falken measures these as 34.1 diameter and 11.5 width)
- Westcott Designs Preload lift (1.75" rear, 3" front)
- Factory UCA
- No BMC
- Removed mudflaps
- Removed running boards
- Removed small flap and bolts forward of front wheel well (was rubbing heavily on bolts at low speed turns and reverse)
- Will definitely need to take a heat gun to the liners for a little more clearance and do a little more inspection

I'm not sure how this will do under compression yet, but I definitely think they'll tuck, and this was mostly an interstitial lift until I can prioritize the cost for BP-51, but I needed tires now. It certainly looks good to me and for light to moderate trails I'm sure will do just fine.

Will edit and add alignment specs tomorrow.

Raised White Lettering - Style Opinions

Just ordered new rubber for my LC 200 (K02's) - RWL inside or out? Some pics on my baby included.

My vote is: out.

And do tell where that second photo was taken.
What an amazing spot.

Quick question. I'm currently running stock size 285/50/20 Michelin Defenders on my LX. I recently acquired an '07 Tundra and just installed some new Bridgestone Dueller 255/70/18s on the stock wheels.

I eventually want to move the LX over to 18" wheels for extra comfort.

Is it a terrible idea to mount the wheels from the Tundra on the LX just to see how more sidewall feels on the LX? Not for long...just a day. I'd never run that skinny of a tire on a 200 for real driving.

FYI, K02 size 305/65/R18 white lettering is not available, looks like even the cooperate confirm that.
My size is 285/70 R17, 32.8 inches. I have bought them through Costco, they only stock RWL although raised black is available through other sellers.

First day wheeling the Baja Boss MT 315/70/17 with Icon Rebound Pro (+25mm).
BMC
Pinch weld bent to outside
AHC lift
Heat moulded front liner and mud flap delete from past mod.
Fender roll in progress

Occasional rub hitting obstacles head on which may be the rock sliders. Likely cut back 1" and re-weld
