At least it works a lot better. In fact, I'm curious if you notice the drivetrain being tighter than your previous transmission (prior to it failing).
It was generally pretty right before, except I’d sometimes get a metallic clunk when dropping from 2nd to 1st at a stop sign. (That was more pronounced if I’d been accelerating and was in 2nd when I’d let off the accelerator). I thought it might be some ujoint wear but that is gone so I guess it was transmission related.

If I ever had that again I’d probably drop the pan and buy new solenoids for the affected gears. I’m not positive my issue was the result of a stuck solenoid, but it would’ve been worth a few hundred bucks to potentially avoid a $6800 repair

Thank you. Great info and I feel like I want to do that same solenoid 'update'.

Looks expensive ;)
I'm constantly impressed with how durable these things are. I have some mods that make some of these things more comfortable/possible. I did completely bottom out in the front though.

Every time I baby mine I remember that @cruiseroutfit and team drive one through the desert at like 100mph
Not to mention the rest of the world that absolutely brutalizes them on a daily basis. Meanwhile, the majority of mileage most US cruisers see is from being rolled out of the garage every other weekend to be ceramic coated.

That is proper air! I've got Durobumps and more compression travel, but I can't imagine jumping my rig that high! Kings coilovers and stops FTW.

I thought still on AHC. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yup, still on AHC and for my use cases, it's still what works best for me. I've definitely caught air and I don't hold back from bombing down desert washes and moguls with AHC on sport with added damping to stay off the stops. It needs no excuses works hugely well between the added compression travel (sensor lift and long travel mods), Durobumps, and lots of sidewall with 37s. But I'm not jumping with the kind of air that turbo8s doing as that's the realm of performance provided by a lightweight build, race suspensions, and hydro or air bump stops.

Can't say I haven't been continuing to think about expanding AHC performance with long travel Tundra front arms, rear Tundra axle, a dual shock setup per corner with ORI Struts in parallel with AHC... thoughts for another day.

Wow. And I’m just worried about the additional 150lbs hanging off (past) my front wheels with the TT hidden winch plate and the heavy AF HF Apex winch. 😏

Don't stress as AHC is an extremely robust and capable system. There's some key mods that can be done to increase its capacity and performance envelop but stock works solidly for most every common use case.

Here's what my rig weighs laden for a trip (unladen ~6400lbs) and I can still run fairly hard on mountain roads and off-road. Of course less weight is always better for performance but the system is no slouch.

When towing my 8k trailer and setup for a longer trip. 9k on AHC, and it rides like butter towing down the highway.

I run with a hugely varied group. There's not much shredding with the fast group that is the Raptor and my LX. Rivian's got some serious speed and could be faster still if it could be modded with larger tires and more rubber.

The Lex looked like it was soaking up bumps better than the raptor! I am a full AHC convert after finally having it on the new truck.
