Needed to get out a bit after a busy week.
View attachment 3444548Is there any play on the bike rack with the bikes loaded? Im currently using a 1up and looking to change for more bikes.
Thanks for the input@MTBADCT
It's pretty solid, but you do have to take care to ensure the bolt that tightens the internal anti rattle mechanism really is tight. Once you think it's tight, forcibly leverage the rack back and forth, then tighten again (and repeat until it really can't tighten any further).
As you point out, having a fully loaded rack means those bikes can produce a huge amount of torque on that long rack arm. I think it would be a problem if it was constructed out of aluminum, but since it's steel I think it's fine. We hit a dip in the road today where only one of the rear tires hit it, which cycled the rear suspension pretty quick and torqued the whole rack quite a bit in my rear view mirror (since the rack is connect to the frame, not the body). It can seem kinda freaky seeing it tweak at a severe angle in the mirror, but it was all fine. Just another reason to make sure the anti rattle mechanism has removed as much play as possible.
We also have the Volocirax for our minivan, ours is for 6 bikes, and it’s been solid. It’s a massive upgrade from the Yakima and Thule I’ve used in the past, these are top tier and you pay for it. FWIW I run 1UP roof mounts for bikes on the roof of our Cruiser and their stuff is as high quality as the Velocirax. Thanks for the input
Great shot! Can you let me know what roof rack you have there? Thanks!

Do you get much rattling with the Gamiviti? It's a Gamiviti. Love it!
I get zero rattling with mine, except randomly in the winter when I get ice/frost buildup on it. No idea why that variable causes rattling, but I have noticed it on cold mornings. Once it warms up/thaws it goes away.Do you get much rattling with the Gamiviti?

Driving the cruiser at the beach is the best.Corolla Beach in OBX
and a quick dunk at the boat ramp when we got home.

I am headed down to the coast for a little beach driving this month. Anything I should be doing before/after as far as corrosion prevention? Planning on a good undercarriage wash when I get home. Should I fluid film before we leave?
I suggest the undercarriage wash and then fluid film after the beach. I know from experience that loose sand and new fluid film can make quite a mess.I am headed down to the coast for a little beach driving this month.
