Engineer Pass. Didn't get very many photos because I was trying to go quickly to avoid what seemed to be a near constant fuel near-boiling event during the long uphill portion coming from Lake City, which was a little infuriating. It was still a good time with the family, though.

Rattlesnake Arches trail is a really fun trail near Grand Junction & Fruita. You should hit it if you're traveling between the Ouray/Silverton/Telluride and Moab. While the scenery was better on the Ouray trails, I think the family actually enjoyed this Rattlesnake Arches trail more. It's not hours long like the others, but still has a good variety of trail characteristics: from straight fast dirt, to semi-steep incline/decent, to small obstacles. It wasn't super challenging, but challenging enough to be fun and keep you on your toes. Stock 200 would have no problem, but you'll still feel like you're flexing your vehicle.

Add to that the fun 1 mile hike at the end of the driving trail, which leads to a large arch you can climb on while surrounded by tons of great red rock views along the way (there's actually a 5 or 6 mile hiking loop that includes the arch, but you can just do the first 1 mile to get to it if you want). Almost no traffic since it's a bit out of the way.

EDIT: Attached GPX file for the trail that you can follow. Note that the middle portion of the trail has the "Upper" road that is open in the summer from April - August (which I drove). The upper road is closed in the winter, but then the "Lower" road is open from August - April. There are signs and gates where the upper and lower roads diverge, so it should be obvious which one to take.

Was it just in your spare tank? I've had a similar issue in my 24 gallon tank, pretty annoying. Must be some kind of solution.

Anyone is susceptible, even stock Cruisers (happened to me twice before, when mine was still stock). There's a lot of speculation about what the culprit is, but the general consensus is just that the fuel return line, along with the close proximity to the exhaust pipes, the fuel in the main tank just gets too hot when the engine is under high stress for long periods of time.

There's a long discussion about it here (link below). I want to try adding a small radiator to the return fuel line on the inner frame rail, since that's presumably the hottest fuel in the system and would get cooled the most from a radiator.

Range day ride.

OK, here's some Utah instead 😉

Hurrah Pass has fantastic views, including the Potash evaporation pools (the pictures don't do the ponds justice, can hardly even tell they're there in the photos).

Last full day in Moab. Decided to try Hell's Revenge. Man, those climbs and descents are so steep!

A jeep was on its side after unwittingly backing up into a large pothole (I think it was actually the "Black Hole" pothole?). Another Jeep already had the passengers and was taking them back to the parking lot. Trail Mater arrived to recover the tipped Jeep.

Bypassed all the crazy challenges. Here's us skipping Mickey's Hot Tub. It boggles my mind that people can do it at all 🤯

Look at that undercarriage to see how Moab sand/ dust gets EVERYWHERE!

Enjoying the Portland region in a different kind of rig. Absolutely had a great time and the R1T is tailor made for the culture up here. IMO. Fast is an understatement. A pleasure to cruise in. As an adventure vehicle, it's extremely constrained with the network it has today.
