Enjoying the Portland region in a different kind of rig. Absolutely had a great time and the R1T is tailor made for the culture up here. IMO. Fast is an understatement. A pleasure to cruise in. As an adventure vehicle, it's extremely constrained with the network it has today.

Love that area. Recently did a trip in December from San Diego to Portland going up the eastern route. Mammoth, lake Tahoe, Klamath, Bend, Mt Bachelor, Sisters, Portland. Amazing scenery, lifetime memories.

We had some extra days because we couldn’t access the Bighorns so we diverted from our planned route up to the Tetons… it’s like Disney World up here but the kids got to see them and we snapped a few pictures before heading out to lesser traveled dirt roads.

worth a drive through the park to see those mountains I think, but yeah it just insane busy up there. We used to head up every year at certain times when tourism is not at it's peak. But lately its just been nuts all the time. I blame the socials

Why no access? Snow? Fire? People?

Snow, mud, and closed roads. Even the road we camped off of in southern area of the Bighorns was closed while we were there due to mud. Apparently it’s the wettest year in a long time. There was a massive mud pit someone got their giant rig stuck in so the entire road got shut down.

One thing I’ve noticed while here in WY is the locals really know how to camp and play. They will bring giant 5th wheels down almost any road regardless of mud, ruts, or potholes and I’ve seen a few with side by sides driven up ramps above the cab of their massive diesel dually while towing these massive campers, horse trailers or toy haulers.
