The tent has a rail system and comes with brackets to mount to the roof rack. This is number 3 RTT. Has a soft Arb. The roost hard. And now this. It's just under 200 pounds with all my bedding and stuff in there. Can’t really tell it’s there unless strong winds definitely get blown around some. As for too heavy and trails. That has never been an issue. I’ve done some sketchy trail and never felt like I was going to flop.

good to know. So yours is just mounted to factory roof rack? I guess i'd have to get rid of this HE yakima basket. @wngrog i know you love it, you want first dibs?

I'm not sure about that. I do have a rino rack that's it's on. but there is another thread about putting an RTT on a factory rack.

You can't mount an AluCab RTT to the factory rack. This tent has a mounting system that differers from any other RTT I've owned/seen.

In order to mount an AluCab RTT your rack needs to have the ability to slide in a bolt vertically into a channel on your rack. A mounting bracket is then bolted down to that bolt (several bolts, actually), and the bracket is attached to the tent.

There were the mounts that came with my tent:

I suppose one could jerry-rig some sort of solution for stock bars using u-bolts or the like, but the proper installation definitely requires different bars.

Is that your 200? I see load bars. I did not know there were load bars for a 200.

I ran Red Cone last month and put together a quick video of what the trail looks like for those who haven't been able to run it. The trail was in great shape, and the views from the top were breathtaking as usual. I hoped to set up my phone to get video of the main obstacle early in the trail, but a bunch of vehicles including some side by sides came up fast behind me. I didn't want to hold them up, so I walked back afterwards and took video. Unfortunately I hear the main boulder in the middle of the trail has since been removed which is too bad since it was a good gatekeeper obstacle and a fun challenge.

I am planning on going up there in a month. Thanks for the video.

Slee Step. Superb design. About 1/2 the holes needed to be drilled versus his old (still available) design. I installed a set solo in 2 hours.

I thought that's what they were. I have a set assembled in my garage, hope to install this weekend. Very nice quality and finish.
