I"ll leave this off the shelf rack (Smittybilt Defender 35605) plus some rail brackets plus a generic fairing here as an option for those running the TLC three pad rails.

I have the take-off factory LC200 roof rack rails and crossbars available for free if anyone could use them. Pulled from my 2013 LC. In good condition, sitting more or less still assembled in my garage. Local pickup only, too big to ship. Seattle area.
Would the 13 LC crossbars fit on a 16 LC? I would be interested in your crossbars. Thanks

I'll add the UpTop roof rack for others reading this thread so they can compare yet another option.

I’m looking at a 2017 LX570 and I wanted to see if you really have to remove the headliner to install a roof rack and add hardware to be available to bolt it down ?

yes.
2015 was the last year with nutserts.

Added the LC200 rack to my 2010 LX last year, and recently added the LFD Off Road crossbar package. Stainless steel, powder coated and very heavy duty. It is a perfect combination for me. Flat bars with slots for mounting options. Excellent customer service too.

nice rack! any noticeable increase in wind noise with the LFD bars installed? just curious, how do you typically use the rack?

My '13 LC currently has stock rails with four oem cross bars, which has worked fine for 130k worth of travels, but now adding a full size RTT and looking for a bit more stability when traveling with the tent loaded...

No real discernable wind noise. I frequently carry ladders and material, and the rails have made it easier to tie things down. I added stainless eye bolts which can be moved as needed to prevent items from shifting side to side. Also makes hooking straps easier. It all seems more solid, but that could be the placebo affect? I haven't done any actual load testing.

Are the crossbars flat or do they follow the curvature of the stock side rails? In other words, if you put a level across all crossbars, would the middle ones be higher than the front and rear ones?

They are obviously flat from side to side, but there is a gap on the two far crossbars compared to the middle due to the curvature of the rails. It probably wouldn't be very hard to come up with a creative solution to get rid of the Gap that is there.
