There was a video floating around a couple years ago of a pissed Jeep Grand Cherokee owner. He demonstrated how the uber-trac (or whatever it's called) didn't work as advertised- he drove on a birm and spun wheels, couldn't get over it. I think he was sueing Jeep... anyway, that video jjcobm posted reminds me of it.

:lol::lol::lol:

Funny how people like to push their own opinions on others via biased and dissimilar information. Our buddy Joe that is. ;)

Yeah, the guy sounds kind of bitter about 'mud and 80s... Maybe we were mean to him, on the forum, a long time ago?

I think firetruck41 nailed it. It doesn't make sense that he would start bashing us off the bat with no provocation.

I think it was a Land Rover Freelander, but I can't find the video anywhere. It showed him getting stuck on a small hill in (what looks like) his yard.

I don't think a stock 80 could do Cliffhanger in Moab and there were a lot of 80's and even Lexusbens built 100 doing that trail,

For the record, I was with BLACKGOLD when he walked his open-diffed 80 through Cliffhanger with only an OME lift. That's not totally stock, but swapping coils and shocks is not much of a modification. He out-wheeled me on Gold Bar and part of Golden Spike (down from Gold Bar to the top of Double Whammy)too.

I know I may not be making any friends but very few of you guys know a wrench from your ass but at least you try. Look at the threads. The 80 community is very sheltered and when a guys that really wheels or wrenches take a look at our forum they laugh. Except for a few stand outs not many built 80s see anything a stock locked 80 cant do.
FLAME ON

You beg the question:

What are you doing here?
If you think so highly of the people on this forum, maybe you should find a forum with people who meet your standards.

a******.

I searched to try to find out who bought the schoolbus, but couldn't find anything.......

Oh well

I'll buy a thundra when I see them used day-to-day in safari/excursions across the deserts/jungles of planet earth......

until then.......I will drive a LC/LX450...........

THANK YOU.............

The Tundra maybe the best offroader ever built, but I have only seen one on the trail and it was pretty much a dirt road. See tons of them in town, lifted, big tires, etc, no AZ pinstripe, no tire chipping, maybe they have an extra set of tires and have them buffed after each trip, but the evidence tells me that very few, nobody wheels them. Seen tons of every other type of Toyota wheeler on the trail, but one Tundra, I have wheeled with more Hummers than Tundras!:o

All I have to say about this male appendage measuring contest is that web wheeling proves nothing, until a Tundra hits the trail it’s hard to tell how well they work. My junk is pretty much stock, OME lift, 33” tires and bumpers, if someone local has a similarly equipped Tundra, I would be happy to hit the trail with them. Would even be up for some follow the leader games. I think that I can pretty accurately predict the outcome of this friendly comparison, but until the trial time is done, who knows?:D

I feel the love.

Too funny. Chicho is my handle over there at TS. All I read was the first response that told me to come over here and check out the forums. I hadn't been back to TS since to see the crack induced response from Joe. I have a Tundra, and even with long travel coil overs and 33's I know my limitations. Yeah, it will go a lot of places, and I would like to think that my wheelin' experience would compensate for a few of the Tundra's short comings. However, at 20' in length and a 47' turning radius, it is not very trail friendly. To Joe's credit, I have seen some heavily modified Tundras that will tackle just about anything. But as I mentioned, those are heavily modified. Hell, I had a heavily modified Samurai that pulled a Hummer H1 out of Chiva Falls a few years ago where three Toyota P/U's couldn't even go

As soon as my Tundra sells, I plan to pick up a 80 or 100 and hit the trails again.

No, it was a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. I remember the Freelander video too, similar thing.

Whoops. You had a typo. I fixed it for you.
