yep, everything about this rig is top shelf! seeing the workmanship and attention to detail in person was quite a treat. know what they always say about pics, they don't do it justice.... but this rig should be a feature in a 4x4 magazine somewhere! i can just imagine how this rig will ride, wheel, and haul arse! good gawd!

Go Wayne!

Great work Wayne...

What a killer color on a 40... DAMN!

it has been a while...
i had to build up a plow truck troopie before i could deliver this unit to San Fran...
anyway here we go.

when installing either the factory top or the Gozzard fiberglass top you will need a different gasket from factory. i used a double DD gasket since it compresses very nicely and will seal properly.
it looks factory from the outside and from the inside.

well, i guess i lost a bunch of pics ...

here is what i have left:
i had to make a bracket to mount the hood support and i decided to use the newer style replaceable clip to secure the arm
new factory antenna installed...

finished...4 months later than i wanted to be and it is finally ready to be delivered.

it fired up very nicely (this time around)
the brakes are killer
it shifts like new
it is quiet inside the cab.
the seats are very comfortable

i feel the look is clean, stockish and not "Tonka-Toy" at all.
it is not a perfect truck, there are flaws if you look closely. even though 4 months over i could spend another month perfecting it. in hindsight there are things i would have done differently, but hindsight is 20/20. the build will fill the customers needs and desires.

now the nervousness sets in, will the customer be happy? time will tell.
i have to type up instructions for the truck.
i will be assisting the customer with registration in California.
i will be assisting the customer with wheeling the unit and the ability to creep over the obstacles.
i will walk him through the different functions of the unit.
i will supply him with a factory shop manual for the basic 40 series, the 70 series parts and the 1HZ engine manual.

a long drive ahead of me.

thanks for following along on the build. i have enjoyed it immensely and it is time to move on to the next one starting mid November.

congratulations, Wayne! You finished.

There is always room for doing it better, don't sweat that- it looks great.

I'd love to have the time/$ to try something similar someday, doubt it would come out nearly as well.

Thanks for sharing

As Romey said - having seen it in person - the pics in this thread (as many and as good as they are) dont do it justice.

of course- I am a little biased having shed a little blood & sweat on this one,

I REALLY like those 255/85 - 16's

Why cant Toyota bring something like this out in NA from the factory?
6 cylinder TD, manual trans, solid axles / locking diffs front & rear

I love this truck!!!

Rusty, your motivation and encouragement (and critical eye) to keep me going to the late hours definitely helped.

thanks for the compliments guys.

wish me a safe trip across the states.

cheers

Wayne,

Are you driving it to San Francisco ? If so when?

Shane

<edit.> I read that you are, but when?

PM will be happy!

Good job!

Looks tops mate
im diggin that front bezel with landcruiser in it

Nice job Wayne. That truck is sure purdy!
If my build turns out half a good, I'll be very happy.
See you when you get to Calgary on the way back.

Regards,
Jim BTW
