I disagree.
Such a sweeping rule cannot but meet exceptions and abuse. Deceit in any forum should be exposed as the basis of these forums is trust.
Thank you Crushers.

japan_import said:I my-as-well explain myself to everyone on this forum where I'm coming from, as everyone seems to know my e-mails back and forth with Wayne now.
I originally posted on this forum that I "have" a HDJ81 so that the members of MUD would take my questions more seriously. If I would have come on the site and jsut posted "I know nothing about anything, and wanna know something...." No one would take me as serious, I don't think.
As for my original e-mail to Wayne, I did not ONCE say I was going to buy a LC forsure from him. I mentioned I was very interested, which I WAS.... I'm forsure going to buy one, and wanted to know some things about it. Everything I said in my e-mails were true. The only "deceit" would be when i said "I have a HDJ81 from Japan." I did not lie once to Wayne. So from just explaining all of this, hopefully you can all see it was all blown out of proportion for no reason.
deceit is deceit, if you would have been straight upfront with everyone then there would never have been a problem in the first place.japan_import said:I my-as-well explain myself to everyone on this forum where I'm coming from, as everyone seems to know my e-mails back and forth with Wayne now.

http://www.j-spec.tk/My Son and I started this business 3 years ago and we have been importing Japanese vehicles ever since. Over all, the qulity of Japanese used vehicles is much better than North American. Many can be found in great condition with low kilometers and no corrosion.
Our philosophy is very simple - to import high qulity vehicles with low kilometers that sell themselves. We also want to offer excellent customer service built on a reputation of honesty and integrity. As in any market, there is always and element of deception and this market is no different. We determine to inspect all vehicles for defects and problems before purchase and after purchase, while still in Japan.
We want to eliminate any and all potential problem vehicles. we feel by offering this higher level of qulity control we can provide a better product to Canadians. One of our goals is to instill confidence in the Canadian consumer about this relatively new Japanese car market and the best way to do that is to consistently provide a superior product. We have also adopted a practice of having all odometer readings verified as true by a company that specializes in this service. And we will provide an authenticity certificate with our vehicles at customer request. We are commited to doing all we can to gurantee a qulity vehicle. we can work with most any budget so contact us. We love and drive these vehicles ourselves and we hope you will love doing business with us.

Stone said:You know, Japan Import, if you were just a regular Joe like me who wasn't into Land Cruisers to make a living, I would cut you some slack. But for you to go behind the scenes and try to weasel out information from an established JDM LC dealer for your own benefit, and then to come on here and pretend that you're not in the business just picks me the wrong way.
You're just another guy out to make a quick buck...probably have no clue about Land Cruisers in the first place, but you and your dad have heard that there's money to be made in it. So you're surfing the boards and hitting up people for "free" information so that when someone comes to check out one of your rigs you sound like you know what you're talking about.
Well, I can tell you first hand that the Land Cruiser enthusiast community is a small one, and word travels fast when there's some shady things going on, especially when it's involving one of our own. What you have done goes against the very words that are in your website:

So I figure Maxx "E." must stand for Ebenal, and Marty Ebenal must be your dad...or vice versa. None the less, you were not forthcoming that you are a new dealer when you started this thread. You explanation about your dealings with Wayne didn't mention that you are a dealer trying to get information about products in an underhanded way from another dealer who's done his research and is in the same market as you. Why is it underhanded? Because you implied that you were going to buy a vehicle from Wayne, and you being a dealer of course had no such intentions in the first place.
Now I might get some flack from saying what I've said...but your poor form has left a bad taste in my mouth, and I'm saddened that there are people that come on to this board with purely selfish and deceitful intentions. Oh yeah, and proofreading your website for spelling and grammatical errors also helps in making you look more legit.![]()

Hawke,
Trust me as being uncomfortable when I advise you that gang ethics don't work well for anybody except the head gangster. If you write something out, expect it to be published at the most inconvenient time. If you want to keep a secret, don't share it.
