Just looking for a little help, perhaps quite obvious. I am removing my side mirrors to replace them as I will be painting the truck. After removing the three bolts, the mirror just does not easily pull off. Is there some clip or hooks or some thing that demand the mirror be pulled off in a certain direction or in a certain way? Thanks for any advice.

No, they should come off with those 3 bolts removed. Maybe there are a couple of u-hooks that slide into notches? Been a while.
Perhaps the rubber gasket is stuck. Some gentle massaging should break it free.
My truck had window vents installed over top of the mirror frame where it meets the door and required the vent sticky stuff to be broken to get the mirror out from under it to come off.
I imagine you could see that tho if it were your case.
