think like a pro..act like an idiot.....thats me folks

after wrapping EVERYTHING up....installing.....putting the speedometer on....alarm...GPS...clock...door switch....you name it...

then.....turn on the key....crank her up...and voila...engine cranks like it should....BUT...the whole dash warnings are on!!!!!!!!!!!

the logical thing (which i realized much later last night) was to check if the alternator was connected properly, or maybe it was just giving up (after years of not actually being tied in properly....

BUT with MY state of mind...what did I do????

i go and THINK that it may have been something i wrapped up incorrectly....so...i go and undo the whole lot...yes....took me all of Friday and most of Saturday to figure out that there is NOTHING wrong with my wiring....around 9pm last night...as i was finishing off tracing each wire with my voltmeter....i realized that the pins that clip onto the back of the alternator were not snug in enough.....CAN YOU FREAKING BELIEVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....ONE pin was just a fraction of a mm away from where it should be...and my idiotic mentality had me unwrap EVERYTHING.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

well.....the moral here is.....u can never not have enough electric tape around :D

at least i get to revise my wiring...for the third time.

no...seriously....if you are like me (a novice) try to see the smaller things first as a troubleshooting method..and then move on to major tasks...u never know....it could be just a pin or a little corrosion thats causing the issue....LIKE MY FREAKING PIN :(

on the other hand...as i went out to get some electric tape (found a guy who sells the good type)...i found he had LED for everything...so, i went and bought LEDs for the map light, dome lights and the new courtesy lights on the doors.

will be installing everything (except the door panels, center console and passenger chair) tonight...and off to licensing tomorrow i hope. then to get my AC compressor. that way i can finalize the whole dash and front foot wells and concentrate on building the center console and interior furnishing.

wish me luck

Finally....she is out

Tomorrow im doing the AC and need a new battery

Congratulations Moe! Now just a few more details to work out.... Great work and persistence!

got the AC done.....but.....well....let me get home and show u the 'wiring'.....they literally destroyed the harness i made....did like 5 'external' connections (although i DID prepare all the wiring for the AC in my harness for them..and showed them where)...a total mess...so i just told them leave it as it is if the AC works..i will do 'clean up' the wiring...

now do u guys see why it took 4 months :(
you either stick by their side the WHOLE time they work on the car...or just put up with what they do.

There are things that require secial tools like the vacuum thingy they use for the ac system tests...I dont have and dont know how to use...

Wiring is easy for me now after learning so much from the guys here....will get it done tomorrow hopefully

I would be rendered speechless if I got back something that looked like that. I would have also cut the amount of money in half that they would have received... BUT, I'll bet you had to pay them 100% up front didn't you?

Some people in life call that good work, but that is why they don't progress.

Then there's MOE... You can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

Good luck cleaning up the mess someone else made for you!
