hi everyone..happy Ramadan to you all....may Allah accept our good deeds and prayers.....its been ages since i was online..... been very busy. Had to arrange for parents and brother to travel AGAIN to Cairo for health reasons...start of school for my kids....and the start of our Holy month of Ramadan.

didnt manage to do much on the cruiser, but been driving it like it should be driven.

a few images of my boys doing their part in helping a charity (Sadagat) that distributes food for the poor around the capital...
preparing the distribution on trucks that go to camps, homeless areas, hospitals and prisons....yes, although the majority are government run, but lack the basics of humanity...very minimal food is distributed if any at all...so this charity does that from donations from Sudanese around the world.

getting ready to do our part too...

distributing dates and water to people stranded on the streets around the airport (a main public transport line to the outskirts of khartoum).

and a reward for their hard work....iftar (breaking fast) at a lovely cafe/restaurant on the airport road. the younger one wants to fast but i give him a 'secret' breakfast or a mid day snack to complete the day while his brother masha Allah has fasted every second day so far.

what @scottryana and @Boltripper have taught me is giving back....i intent to use this cruiser to do as much good as i possibly can. It is now almost rain season...i've set up my toolbox, ropes, shovel and cables to help ANYONE i find who needs a pull out of the mud, a jump to start their car...anything i can do.....thank you guys and everyone who has offered their generosity and support.... God bless you all.

heavy rain today....will hook up my phone to record a trip around Khartoum...will post later.

Thanx @half k cruiser ....its really tough...thats what i love about the 80 series...its something like the Karate Kid....looks smooth outside, but dont dare mess with it...looool

Hows the cruiser running and functioning? Is all of your wiring holding up and functioning as it should? Congrats and you have some great looking young men there. You're teaching them great lessons by helping with charity. My 11 year old son is on a mission trip right now. They are building 3 wheeled carts for disabled people around the world and Sudan is one of the countries where they are sent. I hope it helps him understand the compassion and humanity that we all should share....

Cruiser working fine and wiring is excellent so far....just need to check my fuel injectors...I think 1 isnt pushing enough fuel into the engine....runs fine...and pretty fast....but just more shaking then is normal especially in idle

Hi all....
Did first oil and filter change since engine rebuild...valve adjustements and cleaned the 6 injectors...running smooth so far.

Need to check hi beam contacts...sometimes they just dont work..but when I flash they work great...and by flash I mean the hi beam...not a rain coat thing ;)

It our eid holiday...the end of our holy month of ramadan..so 2 more days of fasting and charity... heavy rains last 2 days and thank God no one required help...so far...but tools still in truck just in case....im loving my cruiser...thanx everyone for support

Been playing with various dash cam apps for android.... I love the autoboy blackbox...records hd and has awesome features even for the free version... planning on recording the whole road to and back from eastern sudan.... will post a map if our proposed trip before we depart

A delayed Eid Mubarak sir! All of my Muslim friends here in Uganda enjoyed their day yesterday. And of course, the rest of us got to enjoy a day off thanks to the holiday :)

Cruiser is looking great. Still following it from the shadows, and working on mine when I get a chance. Would love to make it up to visit one day. The wife has a different level of excitement about that, but I would love to see Sudan.

2490 km...35 hours of driving...4 days trip.....all the way from Khartoum northwards to Atbara, then Ports Sudan..back through east Sudan Kassala and Gedarif.
A wonderful trip during the start of our rain season with the boys. A few issues with the very low quality diesel in the regions that kept stalling the cruiser, but otherwise very nice. Had to stop a few times to manually pump out the dirt/moisture...also the new to me headlight switch sometimes wouldnt work on high beam..PITA....had to keep holding the stick to see well.
No issues with brakes, gearbox (even in heavy mud ).

Loving the cruiser...and thank you guys for all the help.....kids were asking when is our coming trip :D

the main issue was intermittent low power....especially if i was going on high rpm and i brake....it would sometimes stall or jitter. any ideas what this could be??

this is mainly a problem in the regions (the outer states) where fuel is not so purified because the majority of users are trucks....the NGOs and other large corporations usually ship theirs from the capital and have their own pumps.....being neither....the best i can do (after learning this lesson the hard way) is to probably take extra external gallons.....let it set and then pour it into the tank by a filtration system (a cloth or something).
