Spacers? I can't quite tell. Love the stance.

Either that wheel has an exceptionally thick center or it's spaced. :meh:
Lan is a super detailed guy I’m going with thick centers.
I can’t see him buy new wheels that need spacers 😎
See ya at CM

I think this Cruiser had 200,700 miles when I put it back on the road. So I got 20,000 miles on the new engine in 4.5yrs.

That’s what it’s all about…envious!

Put this giant monstrosity on the roof of my Cruiser. 🤦‍♂️🤗

Bought it for my 80-series pickup. Going to try it out on this Cruiser though since the pickup is a ways from done. See if I like it enough to leave up there all summer. 🤷‍♂️

Put in a new fan clutch with 20k fluid. The a/c compressor idler pulley was squealing so I replaced it with a new one. Odd since it was new 20,000 miles ago and doesn’t appear to be trashed.

Gave it a hand wash and I am cleaning the interior a bit.

I bought 3”-5” lift Kings the other day with adjusters. 🤩🤌 I have been running used basically stock height BP51s since I put the Cruiser on the road. I don’t know how many miles were on the BP51s when I got them but I have done 20,000 on them. They been to short for me for awhile being the low lift version. Anyways, upgrade time!

On the RTT, last weekend is the first time I have ever used one. I got to camp late Friday night and only had a beer or two before bed, didn’t have to get up to piss. Saturday night my friends showed up and so I had a few more beers and water/beverages. I had to get up twice to piss, don’t like it. It was raining Saturday night as well so climbing out to pee was not great. Plus the side door zipper got stuck once during a piss. My only other complaint is I can feel the drag of it out on the road, it’s basically a power loss feeling. It’s not to heavy so I don’t think that would be a big issue with how I use this Cruiser off-road. It’s also noisy on washboard (rattles) which I could probably eliminate but still, a complaint. It’s also way up there with my Cruiser not even being lifted more than about 2.5”. Positives are it is really nice to sleep in and fully weatherproof. I did like looking out the screens when I woke up and seeing nature/stars from atop my Cruiser! Mattress and all that is comfy and the fan made for no condensation.

Anyways, I like to sleep inside my 80! I have a real nice Exped pad, a down bag (lighter weight too) and a sweet wool blanket. It’s quick to setup, weatherproof, bug proof and much easier to piss during the night. I am also already setup to rock it this way, light and I don’t have to leave much outside the Cruiser for camping gear. If it’s raining it all fits under the Cruiser. It’s as quick to breakdown as it is to setup too. It’s also easy for day wheeling out of camp when you sleep inside and go light for camping gear.

So I am taking the RTT off! 😂🤦‍♂️

I traded the RTT for the 80-series UTE build anyways and for that Cruiser it will work well. It will sit lower and we will build a rack / mounting system for it. There is just no better way to really do it on the UTE so sticking to that plan.

Cheers

Great feedback…not many people think about the inconvenience of pissing in the middle of the night, let alone having to climb down a ladder in the dark. I piss in the night without beer…don’t need a broken hip on top of piss filled pants.

Haha yup, I am 52 now and none of it is getting easier!

Over the last 15+ years I have really evolved and modified my car camping (overland 😝) setup. Having done a number of trips to Panama and back, lots of Baja, ect in different Toyotas I have just figured out I like to go light and quick/easy. First build wasn’t even over the top but I had onboard pressurized water system, all kinds of lighting and fancy drawers/storage, drop down fridge slide, blah blah blah. The truck ended up really heavy and while I liked having the gear it simply wasn’t needed. I use a little folding sink, white water rafting folding table, never use my stove or take it + propane because I always use my grill mounted to the spare tire, on the fire. Small shovel doubles as an axe. I use a 4 liter water bladder for hands, face, teeth. Take a jug for drinking. Folding toilet for the 💩 in the woods. One medium tote for dry food and light weight camping kitchen stuff. That’s about it for me besides a 45L fridge and a fairly lightweight folding chair.

The UTE will be more overlandy for sure but not this 80.

Nice, I’d love to get some Kings. Which springs will you use with the kings?

Currently it has OME 850/863 if I recall right. Don’t plan to change it right away.
