Just for clarity - would door lock actuators from a 62 bolt into my 60?

Yes. They will.

I ran 2 wires from each actuator through the doors to the dash just under the fuse box. Mounted a remote door lock system. I think it was two relays and a sensor and came with 2 key fobs, very cheap on ebay. My remote system came with a variety of wiring options but I found the one that worked kind of reverses the current. So to lock the current flows down one wire and ground is returned on the other wire. Then to unlock the current is reversed and the power wire becomes the ground. These hooked up to my turn signal wires too. Lock is one beep and one flash of the signal wires and unlock is two. I did end up having to use a diode on one of these wires so the current would only flow in one direction.

Been a while since I did this. IIRC you will need the 62 latch so the actuator has an arm/linkage to hook to. But the latch and the actuators DO mount to a 60 door.

Exception is the rear hatch. I still have not figured out how to mount the actuator.

Most of my '89 FJ62 donor vehicle has been migrated over to my '86 FJ60 project vehicle, including the wiring harness and all power door locks and windows. To solve the dilemma of the rear lift gate lock, I'm repainting the hatch from the FJ62 to match the FJ60 and swapping them out - fairly easy fix.

Replace FJ60 Rear Lift Gate with FJ62 Lift Gate?

@4Cruisers...when you get a chance can you take some pics of the inside of the 62 hatch where the actuator mounts and how it attaches to the lock? Wondering if the lock is oriented differently than the 60.
I may already have some photos on my other computer, let me see what I've got.
