RX7s which share a lot with the BJ74 😆 will use a flat front mount or V mount. Well, in fairness the engine in RX7 are 13b
That was my thinking as I read your post!

Helpful that Mazda called the spinning doritos nnB engines as well...

Hoping it’s just a loose wire…I think it was @OGBeno who said, “buy a 35 year old gray market Land Cruiser. You never have to work on them, parts are plentiful and at every store, nothing breaks and you are guaranteed to make money when you sell…”

This thought keeps bumping around in my
Head. Now it’s less protected for tough rock crawling and road debris, but I honestly don’t know how much of that rock crawling I’ll be doing in this 😂

Place it here, downwardish facing. Possibly that shield spaced down or some protection under there. I might not be able to find a decent size to fit there.

The time you need a intercooler most is at highway speeds, hot weather, and a loaded engine. If you can remember to wash the dirt and mud out of the IC after off road and before the hwy trip home it might work down there........I put a small radiator under my roof rack and ran 1/2" copper lines tucked along my snorkel, through the hood gap afforded by 1" spacers on top of my rear hood hinges. Unusual but it worked...........also tried pre turbo water injection from a window washer pump activated by egt gauge alarm relay, that worked quite well accept for the small tank.
 
Water temp and oil pressure are the first gauges I replace on all Land Cruisers. 😁
 
Yeah I need to get the multimeter out and test things. I just put the turn signal monocle in, so it wonder If I unhooked something…
 
Did some testing.

Warm engine, checking resistance on the sender according to the manual.

My cheapie multimeter showed 111ohms. Sender probably good.





The gauge was a little more vague.

I’m a bit tired but the first step is throwing me off on how to do this.

Measuring the gauge resistance, 18ohms which is definitely below the range. I’m not electronically smart enough to know if that would make the gauge work or not.

I’m not sure how to setup the the first test.


Also checked online for the gauge. Found a few part numbers but not sure on those. All of them showed up NLA on partsouq although that doesn’t mean that’s the case.

Not sure if the Bj74 is for a 24v or 12. The FJ73 I assume is 12v.

If your truck is Australian, it should be 12 volt.
JDMs were the 24 volt trucks
 
the manual is saying disconnect the sender. I assume it is just one wire, the +.
Connect your meter to that wire and ground the negative. Essentially, your voltmeter is taking the place of the sender.
You are testing to see if the gauge is sending the right voltage and, with ohms, making sure the gauge's resistance is right.
If the resistance is truly that far off the norm of 55, something bad might have happened to the sender.
You should call on @Engineer8000 for better info.

That makes sense I think. The sender appears to be in the right ohm range. The gauge is the one out of the norm.

Im not sure it’s available anymore.

I’m looking at a different all in one gauge again and get real coolant temp.
