I was happy with the generic silver. Unlike Dan, I didn't have to have a special color. ( I'm low maintenance ). :)
I'm glad Dan could remember the gentleman's name because I was drawing a blank ( comes with age )

Well Charles, silver on a gold truck did not "fit" quite right. The original gawdy full stripe had red and black in it so it seemed a natural evolution...:hillbilly:

Do note the condition of the vehicle. It rained hard this afternnoon and I was out in it....:flipoff2:

I was actually jealous that mine didn't come with those original gawky stripes. I felt inferior somehow. : )

They are not as attractive as you may think. At least to me.

My daughter called the stripes "Barbie Stripes" so there was no way they were going back on my truck

Confession time ..................
I thought I had found the magic elixir (can of stop leak) for my A/C system and while it did extend the time between freon recharges, it finally fizzled out. I unfortunately will be ordering a new compressor later this morning.

Did it show you where it's leaking out?
Unfortunately nothing definitive ....... There is a small amount of oil on the top side of the compressor just aft of the clutch but it's hard to tell if it is old or new because it doesn't contain any dye. I added one additional can of stop leak plus dye in hopes of pinpointing the leak. My gut feeling is that the issue is internal to the compressor. I've got a new compressor lined up that can be delivered overnight if necessary. With a heat index in excess of 100 degrees a working A/C is a must.

Decided to change the fuel filter and drain the fuel / water separator today. Seemed straight forward .......
As it turned out it was anything but straight forward. Unfortunately the ARB air compressor is basically setting right on top of the manual fuel primer. ( something the ARB installer never considered ).
Lesson #1 ..... Make absolutely sure the filter is full of fuel where the manual primer isn't required.
Lesson #2 ..... Mount the ARB compressor somewhere else.

This is one of those days when I really enjoyed the short walk to the mailbox.

Um,

Those go on the hood, not the back.
