I want to see the photo at high tide. :)

Interesting "test results".......

It HAS GOT TO BE intentional.

Mine has been sitting a few days and I did a start-up test when I got home this evening. It took 69.35 seconds from engine start-up to when the voltmeter "reacted". At the exact time the voltmeter went "live" there was an audible click from the solenoid pack just in front of the forward battery. That pack is the glow screen relay assembly.
After test one I went on a grocery run (literally.. ) and on "hot" re-start the meter reacted instantly.

I started up the BJ74 this morning with stopwatch in hand and it took ~ 75 seconds for alternator to come alive. There is a BJ71 ( the one I previously owned) with a totally rebuilt alternator / regulator setting in a garage across town and I plan to go by Monday or Tuesday and start it up with stopwatch in hand. Results to follow.

you could just relax, accept this is your LC trait and go on with life.

My dad told me that I should respect advice from old folks so I'll gladly accept yours. I am fully relaxed now.

I await the results.
That Dan guy is really smart ........ He called this one perfectly.
My BJ74 ..... Voltage meter jumps into the normal position 74 seconds after starting.
A local BJ71 with a basically new regulator/alternator took ( you guessed it ) 74 seconds.
So as many suggested there are no electrical gremlins, just a stupid owner. :)

A brief history...... I was having to add freon to my BJ74 A/C system approximately every 3 weeks and decided to try this product. After 5 weeks the A/C is working perfectly so I have to assume the product actually helped in my case. Certainly cheaper than a new compressor. : )

My AC leaks at the fill valve. If I keep the cap on, it seems OK for the season--anyway

The product has a dye in it that at least in theory helps your discover the problem areas. It also lubricates o-rings that have hardened with age. Seems to working for me thus far.

did you put the whole can in?

I can also drive my HJ75 and my BJ74 in the woods and not have to constantly look over my shoulder for the "man". :)
I actually prefer the "old school" Cruisers anyway.

That's because you can't get a new one.

Tell me, witrh a straight face, that you do not covet a 4.5 liter twin-turbo diesel V8......

I sure as hell do.....:grinpimp:

While I would love to have more power (V8 diesel) I can HONESTLY say I prefer the boxy look of the older Cruisers.
The new 79 Series pickups are a little bit to much "Tacoma" for me. The older 76/77 Series ( think Foreal Boreal's Cruiser )
is near perfect in my way of thinking...... and no I am not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. :)
Back in my Land Rover days ( a dark period in my life ) I drove a fully restored Series 2A and gave my son my fairly new Defender 90 so perhaps I do need help.

Giving away the Defender was a sound decision. To a family member, not so much...

He was driving a 1971 Series lll so the Defender was a SLIGHT step up. :)
He is now 27 years old and still talks about that old Series lll ( his first vehicle )

Have you lost all respect for me now?
