Nigel it's important to have matching antennas. :D
Although they are a risk to low flying birds, the improved radio reception makes them worth while. :)

The ( now surplus ) PTO winch frame and cover has been listed in the Classified Section ..... Diesel & JDM Parts. :)
It is my understanding that this frame is useful even if you are installing a modern after market winch.

You are welcome!...glad it worked out!

And yes....it surely does hahaha ;)

Your willingness to waste a Saturday to meet my son played an important role. :)

A little bit of a set back .......
Discovered a previously unnoticed issue with the 2H cam shaft. Nothing more money and time can't correct.

The case hardening is cracked on the cam shaft.
As it turns out a new 2H camshaft is a scarce commodity.

There is a huge difference between the after market head gasket that comes in the 2 H rebuild kit and the original Toyota head gasket.
Note the droop in the aftermarket gasket.....

Notice the lack of "droop" in the more substantial factory original.

I found a cam part number, 13511-68010. That is listed for a "general countries" application 1985. It superceeds to a very odd number, 04135-79006-71. I don't know what happens to it after that. I can tell you that the -71 suffix inticates TIE (Toyota Industrial Equipment) usage. In other words a forklift. The 04135 prefix inticates some sort of "kit". It may be that what you see has been addressed by some modified parts but that is pure speculation on my part. You might try a Toyota forklift dealer and see if that number is still good.

By the way the 13511-68010 shows ONE in Ontario. And 14 lifters, 13751-44030 (replacing 13751-47011).

Thanks ......
I think we have sourced a new cam and lifters. Working on the shipping logistics. :)

If that falls through and we are not chasing the same stock I can assist.

Got it ...... Cam and lifters should be here next week.
Thanks for your offer of assistance. Hopefully the cam will be the last surprise on the 2H.

you do realize that cams can be re-chromed (hardening) and lifters can be resurfaced with excellent results .. right?

As foolish as it might sound I would rather install new parts at this point. :)
