You have describe more what you are looking for.
Vinyl, rubber or whatever??
Australia ebay abundantly found.

"You have describe more what you are looking for".....

I realize my typing skills are somewhat limited however........
In my thread you will notice the word ...vinyl ( along with a photo that is mostly in focus) and it clearly states that I am looking in "North America".:) That is the best I can do.:)

ENS out of Canada would be the only really viable source if they can get them and would sell them to a consumer. Yes, these mats are available very reasonably in Australia, but the shipping from there kills us here in the United states. For instance, it cost me $75.00 US to ship two side mirrors for my 79 series project. I can't imagine what a floor mat would cost to ship.

I had basically reached the same conclusion......Thanks

No worries.....your command of my language far exceeds my command of yours.:)

A new mat plus shipping is roughly $600.00 which is hard to justify. I went out and looked at my current mat and lo and behold it is starting to look better.:)

Cheapest way to do it is by sea mail,it takes 6-8 weeks.
It can be as cheap as around $20kg

This company make fully moulded carpets and matching floor/dash mats in 5-6 colours for all Landcruiser models including the 75 series cab chassis and troopy if you want the soft option.

I spent a fair amount of $ having the interior completely gutted and painted with the same textured product that I painted the rear bed so perhaps I should just remove the old mat and enjoy the shiny paint.:)

If you guys do get round to a container from here, I have just found a factory bed like yours from a 1991 HJ75 in good condition with tail gate for au$500. I'm pretty sure the guy would come down. I'd be happy to get it organised from here for anyone interested, just PM me.

You are welcome to "piggy back" this thread however you might gather more interest if you start another thread that features a title that describes what you have either here or in the classified section.
Just a thought......

A small sample.....without removing the mat. The entire floor section is coated with the same material we used in the bed.

What is brand name on that coating? I'm currently building this https://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/459921-project-79-5-a.html and trying to decide on what to do to the cab floor. I have a brand new vinyl mat but the problem with those is they have insulation on the back and if when they get wet it retains moisture for a long time.

Nice truck by the way...just read the whole tread.

I will have that information for you by Monday.
"it retains moisture for a long time" .....That is the exact situation I encountered when I bought this Cruiser. Both floorboards ( especially the drivers side ) had been moist for quite a while and had rusted as a result. Fortunately it was mostly light surface rust and cleaned up with a little effort. Most of the old insulation was removed and the mat was re-installed after the cab was finished.
Thanks for the compliment.............it is always nice to have the aristocratic 79 guys say something nice about their "trailer trash" 75 cousins.

caution guys
the hippo liner, gator liner or other rubberized spray in liner is excellent stuff
but
the prep work underneath MUST be completed with attention to detail.
thin paint, bare steel, rust etc must be removed and a very good application of good quality paint MUST be applied properly.
the rubber liner does sweat and can cause rust issues. some brands are brittle and can crack.
there is nothing you can do should rust start and normally you won't even know till the foot falls through the floor.
i love the stuff if the prep and application is completed right.

i would rather run a rubber floor mat and redo any paint issues each year below it.

looking good there Souther Cruiserbuddy.

Thanks for the advise. The paint shop I used specializes in "street rods" which often involves "donor bodies" that are in very poor condition so I would have to thrust that they are very good at prep and priming. Time will tell.....

I also ran a few 1/4" strips of rubber ( unused bed mat material )
perpendicular to the floor ribs to prevent the mat insulation from actually touching the painted surface and allowing that area to breath a little. I figure every little bits helps....
