looks good ...
Thanks.......
The paint shop was supposed to have applied black to the bed but dropped the ball. The white looks good but will be a nightmare to keep clean. The rubber mat is nothing more than 1/4" matting from the local farm supply company. ( professionally cut to fit if I do say so):)
Oh well........1978HJ45

the white isn't as bad as you might think, i thought the same in the past and after actualy use it didn't turn my gut ...

"it didn't turn my gut..." ...Now that is a glowing endorsement.:D
You should be a "pitchman" for the paint company....

All the melted ice from around the beers should keep it clean as nothing else will be loaded in the tray ay?

Looks good to your bed!
Your bed is having some kind of a coating painted on?

"Rhino" lined.....a textured paint designed to protect the bed ( at least that is the theory ):)

"nothing else will be loaded in the tray" ...perhaps a second ice chest, depending on the journey.:)

I am building a 79 series on a 80 series frame and will also be coating the bed with liner. The truck is white and I thought black would be too much of a contrast. After following Crushers build I really like a white truck with gray accents (rims, frame, bumpers, tire carrier, etc.) and I am thinking a gray bedliner would be a nice contrast. Not as light as white, but not as dark as black. I'll be using tintable Upol and spraying it on myself. I was also thinking of coating the inside floors of the cab with the same color/material. Nice build....

I will not argue the fact that the white looks really good in the truck bed. My only concern was how difficult it was going to be to keep it was getting marked up. The textured nature of the lining also makes it a challenge to remove marks and stains. When the rear canopy is installed ( hopefully later this month ) the framework will also be white. Good luck with your build ( with all these nice 79's being built I kinda feel left out with my
ole 75 )

How are you doing with the rear brake? Any update?

Rear brakes are complete. Had the drums sandblasted and painted also. Sorry no photos..by the time we got to the rears we were working under lights.
Looks good...works good.:)

Its worth spending some time on the rear brakes, the fronts are not the greatest and they need all the help they can get from the rears.

Thanks for the advise.....I learned that lesson the hard way. Thank goodness the HJ75 is not a fast vehicle.:)

I learned the hard as well. I got that good at stripping them down I could pull down both sides and reassemble them in 30 mins in the driveway.
I could never get the handbrake to unlock or hold the vehicle properly, then I discovered the hb cable had un wound itself inside the sheaf.
Once you get them up to standard its just simple job of cleaning and adjusting them a couple of times a year.

Is Bendix shoes good for 75?? what other brand do you guys suggest?? Durable of course, other than Toyota.:D
