1985 4runner. I was at a car meet up this morning and talking to a fellow yota fan with an 87 pickup. I mentioned I have a 1975 4runner and wanted the oem aluminum wheels that he had. He said they wouldn’t fit the hubs of a straight axle. But I know that those wheels also came on 80 series cruisers.
Will the aluminum wheels fit on an 85 straight axle?

Echo. Solid axle wheels are 3.5" backspacing. You can get by with 3.75" with x-over steering. 3.75" will work with factory steering but they will rub the rod end boots.
