I thought I had set it up correctly but I guess not. Right now when I let off the controller it’ll unspool a little bit before stopping. Warn doesn’t offer the brake anymore so I’ll have to pull it back apart and check it out.
AC didn’t go well today. There’s a massive leak at the compressor top plate area that we couldn’t track down. Going to order some better leak detector spray and try again. I may use this as an opportunity to replace the AC compressor just in case.
When you say "massive leak" , It's not obvious? Wouldn't it be either the hose connections or the seal under the plate itself? There are seals on the housing end plates and the shaft seal too. Are there charge ports on it as well? IDK which compressor you have. Gotta have A/C bro. Summer is coming.
pretty certain this is the brake kit. but if the shoes aren't damaged, it just needs pretentioned properly.

I replaced the plate gasket tonight and it was still leaking from around that area. We only had a sniffer to test and it kept going off around the plate and the pressure relief valve. The charge ports are in the plate as well and one was replaced.
@gnob it does look like the right one and I may try it. The part number on the 9.5ti diagram is different and what I had been going off of.
I've seen where people over charged and lifted the relief but they always reset. Maybe your relief is a leaker?
I hate the under the dash part but it costs too much to pay shops. For me anyway. With all the work you've done I'm sure you can handle it.
Parts for Warn winches are easy to acquire. Check the folks at Montana Jack's Outpost. Very knowledgeable and helpful. They seem to stock everything for the classic Warn winches.

AC is recharged. It turned out to be the equipment leaking and we didn’t catch that last time. The low side connectors o ring had gone bad. I also got a OEM mini tube header installed and EGR deleted. Found it on Tacoma world for a solid price and not the trucks even quieter. My old manifold had a good size crack in it.
I gotta admit, the 17-19 mpg I’m getting makes me love this swap even more. I’ve seen as high at 22 at long stretches of 60-65 mph.

I have one installed. I just didn’t take a photo of it. The heater shield came with the header.

Well exhaust leaks have been a huge plague for me. I have a small one that's only noticeable under light throttle acceleration that I've been fighting. So far I've had to reweld the welds on the muffler from the factory, I changed to a ball and socket connector from the down pipe to where it crosses under my transmission and I'm going to have to remove the exhaust manifold and weld it.
I've been using a shop vac on a blower setting to push air into the exhaust system and used soapy water to track down all the leaks. I hope once that's fixed they will all be done. I've also been on the lookout for another transfer case so I can start building my duals. So far FB marketplace has been a miss around here in the PNW.

That’s kinda surprising, I feel like when I’m browsing for parts all the good deals are in the PNW…also that’s a great trick for exhaust leaks, I’ll have to give it a go with one on my 4Runner I can’t track down.

maybe I’m not searching right but I’ve only been able to find forward shift t-cases or people who want $350 for one. I already have two, ones just still under the truck so I was trying to find another top shift so I could build it and have it ready to drop in.

Pulled the exhaust manifold again and really looked at the welds you can see where the exhaust was already leaking out of it
Shop vac hooked up and soapy water showed it pretty good. The photo doesn’t really do it justice but where all the undercut is was leaking. Welded it up and pressure checked again and it’s good to go. Hopefully I’ll get it back in the truck Thursday once parts show up.

My old HVAC controls died. I had heard that the new Toyota one was updated and it said to fit my truck. It does not work. The cable for the blend door is a different style on the new one, it uses a round end and the sheath over the cable also attached different to the control frame.
I do like the updated design with it being a pin and not the plastic clip that goes through. since I can’t return it I used as many new parts on an old frame

I’m still fighting some type of leak. I don’t know if it’s exhaust at this point as I’ve pulled the entire exhaust system and pressure checked it and fixed all the leaks I found and I’ve smoked the intake system and found no leaks. It’s only present under mild throttle with a load in the engine. I’ve tried to replicate it on jack stands with the brake applied and couldn’t.
Even with the issues I decided to take it to the mountains and had fun. The snow is still around but it’s s***ty and made some of the drop offs sketchy. I’m glad I can turn the lockers off to keep it from grabbing the low side in snow.
