I want to thank you for all of the great pics of the engine compartment during reassembly. I have, and will continue to reference them while I mock up my rig. I may have questions as I go too.

picked up a goodie today

Picked up this "New" South American made OEM stye softtop to use on my Paki softtop bows until I dig up more money to complete my hardtop. very well made rubberized canvas material, reinforced around windshield frame and front door post. nice heavy duty zippers and SS rings. Also picked up this bottle jack.

More work done

Got Winch back on, got new windshield back in (very easy with rope technique), wiper arms and blades on, luna battery monitor mounted, license plate on, working on headlights but having flasher issues, no blinky, blinky happening?, got turbo crossover made out of silicone tubes, SS pipe and clamps, doing the inlet tommorow with 90 degree out of turbo (see pic) then SS pipe with small open air filter by fender. new w/s washer motor installed and tubing (works great)

Wow. That looks so nice Rob!

Your BJ42 must now surely be rivalling Filmpilot's ex-kiwi BJ42 (ex-Cambridge NZ) for "best-BJ42-in-the-world" status. :D

I don't know why I'm zeroing in on your voltage regulator when there is everything else there to ogle at - but is that the original one or and aftermarket solid-state relay?

:beer::beer:

LOL, i MEANT TO CHIME IN AFTER YOU GUYS NOTICED THAT. It looks the same with key off not running. So I guess mine is same boat. I am going to try and figure it out this week, I am trying to get it all finished this week and drive it 8 hours home to NC. I am having a flasher problem maybe you can help me solve. my lights work, I go to do turn signals and I hear one click and nothing? my green light in gauge cluster just stays on? any ideas? do i need a new flasher box that mounts to inside firewall? I think filmpilots is much nicer, I did not recoat nothing in that gold zinc plating stuff, I am starting to rush things now and then I am going to go back little by little and swap out small items like bolts that I did not get to. Thanks brother!!

Unreal, your engine bay is pure cruiser porn! :D
The turbo setup looks factory-fitted. Love your number plates too, does it get any better.

What finish do you have on the rocker cover, thermostat and other alumin(i)um parts?

Looks great.

Thanks fellas, its been a hard long lesson learning year? Dougal, I had the aluminum pieces sandblasted and then I just put like 5 coats hight temp aeresol can high gloss clear on them? Yeah, I am happy with the makeshift turbo setup tubing.

Gracias...

I read something about breaking in a diesel in where not to idle it for the first 100 miles and to run it under load but not extreme load? It is going on its first and long run at end of this week, so I am going to try and do some short runs around town by middle of the week after I try and figure out the whole steering aliging thing?

couple more, light I bought off ebay I am going to mount somewhere on inside cab, very bright, also going to try and find a mercury switch type light for under the hood so when I lift it comes on? And Trasharoo garbage bag holder that mounts to outside spare tire, think I found link on expeditionportal, very well made.

when breaking in any engine just drive it, you do not want to hold steady speeds for extended periods of time.
city driving is perfect for this for the first couple hundred km then load it down and work the old girl hard for a couple runs. tow a heavy trailer or something.
after that you are golden.
