Thank you Matt. I will hit those points you touched on tomorrow.

All the paint on tire rods and the frame is bridge primer and black hard hat paint.

The grey paint on the glove box is a gm silver I think. I can get a paint number for you if you would like.

In terms of the build, I have rebuilt the front axle, new fuel lines and other soft hoses, air cleaner resto and install.

Also getting the hood skirts painted to see how the color is turning out.

Started under coating some things today. Also finished up the tire rods and got the installed along with the damper. Put my air cleaner back on as well, there is a half inch gap between the carb and the cleaner... What do I do? I was going to make a spacer and call it done.

Biggest thing though was cleaned the shop up from the axle rebuild... It was an absolute wreck.

I never saw anybody use plastic roof sealer before..have you had experience with it? Seems like it would work but having never seen it I wonder how long it last etc. Educate me please..Thanks Lee

Not much to report with, I got it back on all 4 wheels and then cleaned it. Also got some color shot and more metal work done.

Most all of the rolling chassis is ready to go. I will just finish metal work, sand blast, body work, paint, rebuild.

Coleman, A local guy told me about it, he coats the bottom of all his tub's with it and has great results.

Ok need some electrical help here. I want to try and start my motor while I am off doing metal work and paint work.

How would I start the 2f like so?

FJ40 2F Motor - YouTube

I am looking at schematics and cant figure out how to simplify it all down to to start/run circuit. I remember reading a how to on here some where but I cant find it any where.

Took some stuff off this old girl I found in a salvage yard. Mainly all dash parts, they were the only thing that was not rotted or gone.

My tub is going to get shot with primer this weekend, then hope to have it back to be painted in about a week. I still have to drill holes for the roll bar and other stuff that got covered up with the new quarter panels. And yes there is body filler but just covering some spots on the welds. Most is all sanded off now.

Been restoring two of my clusters...
Any clue on if this led strip is factory? I've never seen them so I figure it's something the Po has done.

Also got the tub shot with primer. Hopefully getting color on it next week.

And side note, got a new pup! Miller, he is a lab/border collie mix.

Got my cluster all finished up.

I am done with all side jobs, so I am now back on the project full speed. I have about a month to finish it all up.

Sent from deep in the mountains of Honduras using only sticks and rocks.

Hey, are the glove compartment and gauge cluster panel the same ones you had pictures of at the very beginning of the thread? Can you explain the process of restoring them? They look great. Did you just primer and paint them? It looks like the gear shift instructions on the glove compartment got primered over; wondering how that was rectified..

Thanks!

Excellent work and photos. Those look like PACOL rear quarters, right?

Thanks guys! I am really trying to get this all finished up. Been really busy/dealing with alotta crap lately but now I have about 2 weeks of nothing serious to do. I can finally 'move' back into the shop.

Steve, Yes they are by PACOL. Got them directly from Alexandria.

Undermind, Yes they are. I used a new shift plate from CCOT. If I would have known that they say CCOT on the bottom corner I would have gone with a different vendor but oh well. All I did was wire wheel, prime, paint. The gauge cluster I used new decals on it.

Well it turns out its hard to restore a car and move to a college town for school. Hah.

I havent gotten much done, but hopefully that is going to change. I went back to my home this past weekend and dropped of the tub to a body and paint shop. With in two weeks I will have every single part needed to be painted at his shop. No clue on when it will all be finished but once paint is done it is fairly down hill.

Well paint is 90% done, just gotta get the liner kit sprayed.

Here are some pictures from today. They don't do justice at all, I am blown away with the work so far. I didn't hand over the parts in the best shape but they did a awesome job turning this into a great body with great paint.
