Got some more toys in the mail today. Door inserts for a great price, delivered cheaply from Unobtainium. I obviously haven't installed them yet, but they look ok.

Are those are for the wing window access? CityRacer (@Racer65) also sells them in grey fwiw.

So, update to my rig.

Higgy tore into the engine and found three broken compression rings.

Natural risk of high mileage engine being parked for awhile and then put back into fairly extreme service, imo. We talked out the options, including rebuilding the engine, but since machine work can take a year or more, we decided on another used engine.

After an extensive search for the right engine, Classic Cruisers came up with a gem.

The plan was to continue adventures with a tour de force of various interesting places, 100+ degree temps plus my pup testing positive for heartworm led me to renting a trailer and borrowing my wife's GX460 to get Mavis back to Tennessee. More adventures will follow.

Have I mentioned how nice air conditioned seats are at 110 degrees Fahrenheit?

Mavis is home, and after 4 days on the road, rest is in order.

Next up is rigging her for camping. I currently have one of those academy brand hub tents, which sets up in a ridiculous amount of time, and is relatively cool, but is 2 season at best and isn't tall enough for my taste.

I want something that is smaller stowed, yet tall enough to stand in, as well as a 4 season capability. I'm looking at several options but am wondering if folks here have some suggestions.

Heat has kept me from adventuring lately, but this weekend was cooler so I loaded up the pups and drove an hour and half south of me to explore Scooters Loop in Hickman County.

Pretty drive approximately 33 miles long. Varies from hardball road to 4 wheel low rock climbing. A small chunk of it is "claimed" by property owners and is impassible because hillbilly, but it's signed well.

And you put no protective shielding between them? 😱

The possible consequences are beyond calculation!😝

Well, halfway through Cooper's Loop, my handbrake s*** the bed.

I managed with just my rubber wheel chock for the rest of the trip and tore into it today and found this

Sharp eyes will spot the passenger side pivot pin missing it's clip and backed out. That'll disable your handbrake pretty quick.

Found the clip on the bottom of the drum and reinstalled it, not having anything appropriate at hand.

Forgot to drain the oil prior (again) so did this all while bathed in transmission fluid. What fun.
