Very nice cruiser, looks like a solid starting point. Also the best color on a 40 but I may be biased ;). Don’t fall into the resto trap, just baseline it, drive it, and enjoy it. Do small projects as you go. That is some killer og patina too, I’d never paint it.
Great points - I have fallen into the resto trap and want to get out of it.
Looking forward to the updates on this 69.

…and?

Changed the oil today and played with a plasma cutter. The PO had a plow on the front and wants his Mount back. It was welded on so I have to cut it off. Only problem is the plasma cutter keeps flipping breakers 😂😂

This is why you need a friend to stand by the breaker box to keep flipping it. Totally safe! Definitely won'y fry the wiring!

Maybe if his electrician didn't spend all his time chasing powder at the local ski mountain he could get that taken care of!

True story: On a military base in Afghanistan, Americans had to adhere to fire codes while the Afghans and Third country national workers did not. In the same buildings.

The horror in electrical malfeasance I saw there was stunning.

Correct early 69 single barrel. 👍 You got lucky, as they used a weird 2 barrel from 3/69 to 9/69.

I have a 3/69 and have the short run carburetor. Benn running it for over 30 years with no issues at all. I just do not understand how this carb got a bad rap from people.

Update!!

All lights are operational! Turn signals, brake lights, and new LED headlights from city racer. Really digging the headlights so far. Haven’t driven with them yet as the front is all tore apart.

Thanks to @rkymtnflyfisher for the cruiser wisdom and guidance on the knuckle rebuild. I think all cruiser heads should invest in stock with shop rags!! 😂😂. What a mess!!

Found 4 broken hub bolts. Nothing some left handed drill bits and extractors can’t solve. Also a smallish crack on the steering stop.

We are thinking it would be wise to upgrade to locking hubs while digging around up front. Currently have 6 spline birfs, does anyone know of a locking hub for those or do I need to upgrade to 30 spline?

Pm’d you on some hubs.

Ain't a knuckle job if everything isn't covered in anti-seize. @ZooTownCruiser getting dirty.
