George,

I think the gripe is with the seller and the way he handled it. He listed "for sale", for 5K, then started entertaining bids and selling for a higher price. I know what I paid for my 45 and I think you got a great deal. "Offering" to pay for it was one thing, but "paying" for it is another, good for you on the latter.

Now get busy on this thing and post up some pics of your progress!!

It would be cool if you guys had the facts straight before posting comments like the above.

you mean facts like this;

The guy was asking $5000.00 or best offer. His name on the sign is Jeff.

Called him today, he was at work and said that he had a ton of calls on it. Sounds nice, offered to buy for full price but he has been offered the same from 2 other buyers. One from AUS. he is sending me more pics tonight and said that he was going to have a bidding war on it. No telling what it will go for.

Yep, thats BS.... I offered full price.... Just got email and the price is $7000.00
MSGGRUNT you should had bought it.

If anyone's looking for it, I stumbled across it in a garage/shop near Sunset Cliffs Blvd and Voltaire about two years ago. I can't remember exact location but its within 2-3 blocks of that intersection and is usually visible from the street through the open door. At the time he wanted $15K.

he did start it up for me and said the F engine had been rebuilt, and it sounded very good, he was talking of slapping a quick paint job on it. The weatherstripping was kind of hokey back then along with some other body work...probably well worth it for $5K though.....unless its back up to $15K now...

I sat out the bidding war, called him back to see if it sold, he said nobody was pulling the trigger so I did.

to reiterate what Rockcod just stated, I don't think anyone is "chapped", certainly not with you anyway.

again, nice truck..................enjoy:beer:

Though I do not agree with the sellers actions I can understand his motivation to get the best return possible.

Water under the spilt milk now anyway.

Big picture - a 45 has gone to a more interested owner for a decent price .

where is the "new acquisition/ build thread" full of pictures ???????? :D

I'm just sorry that it isn't sitting in my garage right now... Even $8,000.00 seems reasonable. But, if it didn't end up in my garage I hope my posting it on Mud helped it find a loving home.

Holy crap..I thought someone had sold my 45 from my garage! Nice 45!

Agreed! I have to get one of these some day...so cool.
