Matt, is that a Polaris 30? We have one of those along with a couple of bigger New Hollands. that little Polaris is really handy as a wheelbarrow. I think i found the exact clips you are looking for at one of the Oldsmobile 442 parts suppliers i use. They even sell the rubber female groummets. check it out and let me know what you think if they are the same. Go to www.Fusick.com and download their pdf catalog, look on page 64. Verbage is below, but they look the same.

The 6x6 in the yard is an older Polaris atv....the tracked skid steer is a new holland 185/80 hp. Way to big for what I was doing, but our smaller case 70xt's were rented out and this is all that was left on the lot. Awesome machine for bigger jobs and bigger areas, but tough to manuver around in some of the areas I was working in. Pic makes it looks small for some reason? Only 8 hours on that rig :)

Got some fasteners for my door panels, thanks for looking though :)

And let me know if you need me to take that lwb that you just got off your hands, gonna be needing another project here soon ;)

Thanks, Matt

Look at all the play toys in the yard. Looks like you keep it looking really nice also. I see you take pride in everything that you own / have.

Wife cracks the whip on the house and the yard stuff.....I'm just labor and there for the heavy lifting :D

seeing that you used the wire clips vs. the flat metal ones i have seen, can you feel the wire through the material vs. if they were flat you would not? just wondering. they look great. have you thought of using steam to help get the material to pull? i have seen that used and i have a steam unit that i use to clean with and can tell it would make a dif. when trying to get material to conform.

The wire ones worked perfect, no you can't feel them.

I have used a heat gun before on vinyl to shrink it down. My panels are actually pretty nice right now.....a lot of time a day or 2 out in the sun shrinks things up just right also. For now it's just right.

Thanks, Matt

Your rig is beautiful Matt. Seeing the panels on the door was amazing... you've done some quality work on this piece. Thanks for the motivation... and frustration...

Had an appointment with the autoglass guy this morning and he kinda blew me off. Had some other stuff in the shop and said he just didn't have time to help me today. He did however give me a few pointers on how to get my glass going up and down a bit better....so I went home and did it myself this morning :)

Actually didn't take that long and I think with time they will get a lot better since the channel is so tight, but overall going up and down pretty good now.

I got home late from work tonight, but did get a care package from Shane..........:D I also like the shipping label ;p

Tailights might be going in tomorrow, or at least start going in. My gaskets are shot so they need a lot of gluing back together just to get them to work. Those taillamp buckets are sweet!!!

Thanks Shane

Looks great! So cool to see it drivable. I hope you got an insurance policy for at least 250,000 thousand for it! ;)

Not a lot done on the lv tonight.....been struggling getting home from work early this week. Managed to get maybe 2 hours this evening.

I wet sanded out those cargo panels I had paint reaction problems last Saturday with. Got them hung back up, going to go to the paint store tomorrow and see if they have some white epoxy primer on the shelf. If yes, I might spray a coat of that before I shoot base again. Hoping to get them into clear tomorrow night if everything goes right?

Worked on my taillamp gaskets a bit, god they suck....:frown: I used some
3M weatherstripping adhesive and glued the pieces back together. I guess I got them back together and semi-acceptable, but they still suck. Good as it gets for now.....I am seriously thinking of trying to carve some out of rubber myself..I think I could do it?

Glued the lense gaskets back in the buckets with the 3M adhesive, also installed the bulb assemblies.

I think you would be better off using flat rubber and cutting the shape out then finding some small square (or rectangular) rubber strips and glueing that to the flat piece with the 3M black weatherstrip adhesive. Making them from a solid chunk of rubber would be tough.

Not a lot a pics and doesn't look like much, but worked for almost 4 hours this eveining on the lv.

I got some white DP epoxy primer today and when i got home I shot a couple coats on my parts. After I did that I moved onto my taillights to give it some time to dry. I had to drill a couple holes underneath in the body a 1/2" for rubber

I had to drill a couple holes underneath in the body a 1/2" for rubber grommets and the taillight wires to run up. Got that done and the wires in, hooked up everything.....I have turn signals, but not brake or taillights  I had it when we wired it....not sure, worked on it for a bit, but finally gave up and went back out in the booth.

Shot a couple coats of white base and then cleared....turned out pretty nice. Hopefully if everything is dry tomorow evening I can bolt some of it in. :)

chad does nice work, I hope you paid him for all his weekends and evenings or at least mentioned him as more than the "mechanic buddy"

You must have not read my post......taillights don't work :flipoff2:

Now I have to go bother him tomorrow ;p

Check your ground at the housing or just run a jumper wire..........yes, no maybe??

PS, listed my FJ40 on ebay....take a look...........not the quality of the LV design group.

About 4.5 hours this evening on the lv. Kinda was trying to hustle a bit this evening, that car show is tomorrow. Of course it won't be totally done, but trying to get as much done as possible.

Got all my rear panels in along with the speakers. I didn't take any pics of the actual installation because I was kinda in a hurry. Before I installed the panels I used the die grinder and made a 3/8" hole in each area behind the panel then installed a 1/4" rubber grommet. Then on each side right next to the floor directly below the speaker I made another 3/8" hole with a 1/4" rubber grommet. I used a thin steel wire and snaked it through that area and then pulled the speaker wire through. This way it goes into the area between the inner and outer panel and comes back into the cab right next to the floor and runs underneath the carpet up to the front.....can't see any of the wire. Even hooked it up and had the stereo working, that was good.

Installed the little running boards on each side.......also got my taillights and brake lights working.......Bad ground last night of course. Before I put them back in this evening I ground the paint off the inside so the ground jumper wire would have a solid contact...worked perfect. All legal now ;)

Had the wife cleaning out my 40. The 40 is a driver, but still looks pretty good I think. Want to make sure the kids know theres more out there than the standard Detroit junk ;p
