I got the boards with the lv, so not really sure of there history or where they came from. They sure look nice and factory :)

Matt

The PO is either someone I gave a set to, or they bought them from Specter Off Road.

Well, got some work done on the lv tonight, but no pics.

I will say now......I HAVE BRAKES!! And I am happy :D My mechanic buddy came over this evening and we wanted to take another look at it. We looked at the adjuster rod between the booster and M/C, seemed like it was right where it needed to be. We vaccum bled the brakes again, no luck... Then my buddy decided to take a look underneath the dash and then he realized it after looking at it.....rod underneath there just wasn't adjusted out far enough. I know....extremely stupid, but both of us felt and thought it had the correct tension on it so neither of us bothered to look  With a few minutes of adjusting in short order we had pedal. Took the lv for a quick spin, worked very, very well. My buddy wants to take a look at it again after it's got some miles on it, but overall we both were very happy. Thanks to all those who contributed ideas, even though it was a stupidity on are part ;p

Also worked on the rear cargo panels a bit. Blocked out and shot more primer. Probably going to take another couple coats of primer and sanding, but I think I will have them where I want them. Still hoping to get some paint on all those parts this weekend.

Hey Matt,

Who did you buy your LV from? Just curious to how my panels ended up in your LV.

Gene,

I bought my lv from Cruiserbrett about a year and a half ago out of the So. Cal area. From my understanding Orange45 owned it prior to that.

When I bought it they came with the rig, as far as how they got there.....I'm thinking one of those guys got them?

Thanks for the clip info

Matt

Thanks to all who posted info on those door clips.....kinda suprised on how many responded and how quickly? ;)

I've got a co-worker heading to Fargo, ND tomorrow and I printed off all the pics that were posted here of those clips. I'm hoping to get some wire ones like the orginal ones Junky posted up....since that's what type those panels were made for.

If it doesn't work out, I might be taking some of you guys up on your offers :)

Thanks, Matt

Those panels have been traveling with your LV for a while. Orangefj45 bought them from me.

Matt I have 40 clips coming your way and should hit Tue.

Also your other parts as well. One piece in yellow and the tail light housings in clear. Since they will not be seen I want them to last.

Best,

Shane

ooooohhhh.......nice........

That will be sweet! Get the tailights wired up next week for good, might even be able to take it for a drive and be totally legal now ;) Car show is coming up fast here, June 10th......should be going there no problem, just depends how much is finished before then now. I won't have it done, but should have a few more things bolted on by then.

Thanks, I'll me looking forward to those

Not a lot done on the lv tonight, bit over an hour.....

Blocked out my cargo panels again with 80, pretty much have them straight and where I want them. Went over all the other parts with 220 and shot a couple coats of ureathane primer on everything again.

Cargo panels will be blocked out with 220 next and the other stuff gets wet sanded. Hoping to shoot a couple more coats on the cargo panels tomorrow and get wet sanded Saturday night or Sunday......Hoping to get paint on those parts by Sunday?

Not a full day on the lv today, wanted to but got roped into some stuff I had to help the wife out with ;)

I did do some work on those parts I want to get into paint. Before I blocked out the rear panels again to 220 I cut the holes for the rear speakers. The speakers came with a template so I used that. Also incoporated a hole that was in the rear panel into the speaker hole, which was the plan. Got those holes cut out and then blocked out the panels to 220. Hung everything back up and shot a couple coats of epoxy primer over all of them.

I shot a couple coats of beige base on those little triangle running boards first.....then moved onto the white for all the other parts. Everything was going good, but I started having some reaction problems with a few of the parts :frown: So, had to stop, have to wait a few days down, wet sand out and try shooting the base again. I guess the joys of painting sometimes???

My co-worker that was in Fargo yesterday did pick me up some of those stock clips that Junky had posted :) I'll post some pics tomorrow, but I did manage to clip one of the doors panels to the door....worked great! Since I won't be bolting any of my parts on tomorrow I probably will start making door panels....see how it goes, in between keeping the wife busy.

Few pics of the first half of the days project......;p

I did a search for something totally unrelated and this thread popped up in the search results. 90 pages? I had to know what you could talk about for 90 pages. That was hours ago... and I mostly looked at pictures and skimmed some areas I had particular interest in.

Wow... thanks for putting all this on the net. And like everyone told you before me... you do great work. I'm sure you're proud of it.

Look at all the play toys in the yard. Looks like you keep it looking really nice also. I see you take pride in everything that you own / have.

Matt, is that a Polaris 30? We have one of those along with a couple of bigger New Hollands. that little Polaris is really handy as a wheelbarrow. I think i found the exact clips you are looking for at one of the Oldsmobile 442 parts suppliers i use. They even sell the rubber female groummets. check it out and let me know what you think if they are the same. Go to www.Fusick.com and download their pdf catalog, look on page 64. Verbage is below, but they look the same.

Pretty good day on the lv today, few honey do's that interupted the creative process, but overall good.

Got up this morning and started sewing...since I've got to wait a few days for that paint to sit. Fired up the Martha Stewart factory again ;p Going solo on all this stuff, no help from anyone any more. I used 1/4" sew foam for the back of the door panels. Had to make the pleat's first and then cut the upper piece and did a double stitch across the horizontal seam on that.

I laid the backer board on the back side and traced it with a wax pencil. Then just outside the line I cut the sew foam back off, glue needs to stick to vinyl fabric, not foam. Then cut about an 1 1/4" beyond the wax pencil line, this was for the the edge to fold over.

After I was all done with this I brought everything outside since it was a nice day. I sprayed a little 3M super 77 on the back side of the upper foam piece real quick just to hold it in place. I used weldwood contact cement to glue the vinyl to the backer board. Went pretty good, I used an iron to kinda mold the corners and edges into the corners and melt everything together. It sorta looks like ass from the back side, but it is nailed down for good and isn't going anywhere! Cut out all the holes for the clips, window and door handles and installed one just for fun..........Overall, extremely happy with how they turned out. :) I'm getting a lot faster at sewing and had about an hour and a half into sewing....what took the most time was all the glueing and cutting. For the most part it was a 5 hour job from start to finish.

Not going to install them yet....I have an appointment with the local auto glass guy Tuesday morning and were going to try to get my door glass doing it's thing a little better. Would like to wet sand those other parts Tuesday or Wed. and get them into paint....try to get them bolted on before Friday.
