On a 40 there is a rubber nipple that pushs into the hole on the door so they metal clip fits snug and no water gets onto the fiber board.

Hi Shane,

Might be interested in the rubber nipple depending on what cruiserdan comes up with? Have to see about that offset clip he's talking about, but I think I understand. The large holes in the board are lined up, but inboard of each door hole about 3/4".

Thanks on the parts, PM sent

Matt

All is still available, I just bought a bunch thinking I was going to need them.....Did not know that new panels came with clips.

Your clips are offset?

Holes in the fiber board are approx. 5/8".

The are offset from the holes in the door, "on center" approx. 7/8"

If your auto body supply place is like mine, there will be a large wall of bins with all kinds of clips and recepticals for attaching interior panels. Go sort throught them and you'll find what you need.

Unfortunetely I live in the sticks ;p My local auto parts store leaves a bit to be desired in that department.

I will however stop by and see what they have....you never know ;)

Thanks, Matt

I have tore s*** up looking for my pieces, I know they will work and if you see what they are you will understand my thinking. I will have to put the lady on the hunt for them.....She can find anything!

Hey Matt,

I've been following your resto from time to time and have really enjoyed watching the quality of your work and your LV being put together. I made the masonite door panels that you have. Kind of a trip to see somthing I made in my garage, sitting in yours. I have seen several different kinds of panel clips used on the LV panels. I believe the ones that Mike posted here in his pics are the originals, but others will work also. Here's a pic of the ones that came in my LV. They go directly into the hole in the door, without a sleeve going into the hole first like the one in Mike's pics. I do believe that SOR sells LV door panel clips, but I'm not positive on that. Who did you buy your LV from? Just curious to how my panels ended up in your LV.

I'm sure you've got this figured out already, but here's how they slide onto the door panel and why the holes are offset. Note that the part of the clip that goes into the door in the pic above is even with the round part of of the clip in this pic.

Any source for that orgininal door panel style clip?

That looks pretty nice and simple.

Thanks, Matt

I had no idea you were that far from Duluth.....damn.....them's Texas travel times

Anyway, both of my parts stores here in a town of 10K keep those clips like Gene posted, very common on Fords from the 60-70's.......if ya' don't locate some holler......

The FJ40 clips are still available. The platic cup is a 67772-20021 and the metal clip is a 67771-20022.

Current list on the cup is $.92 each and the clip is $1.09 each.
