Awesome of the family to pass those along and recognize the importance of them. Would have been easy to toss them in the trash for some. Please let me know if you are interested in parting with the mountain gazette magazine cover :)

Casey came to several events I was attending, loved hanging out with him. He also came to our Lone Star Cruiser Roundups. Great guy!!!

New marker lights, rearview mirror, and lighter. Trying to decide with going with the clear marker lenses or keep the orange. I kind of dog the orange, but clear is original to this year.

That rearview mirror was a PITA to get it into the mount.

New six fuse fuse box on the way.

Installed new turn signals on the ‘64.

Also rolled over 88k…or 188k….or 288k…or 388k….488k….1,088,000…who knows. I really think it is 88k given the condition of everything.

Took out the City Racer led headlights and put in the Koitos that I bought from the @CruiserTrash website. I hooked them up today and love the warmer light with the 40 and of course the old school (original) look. I’ll hook up the harness this week and see if the HBI lights up as I put a led in my indicator a while back and some have had luck with just doing that. If it doesn’t I’m hoping to test out the solution that @CruiserTrash has since mine is an early model.

Installed the Koito harness for the Koito headlights I bought from @CruiserTrash
Also put in the fuse and relay mounts for it from @cruisermatt and those work great. I’m going to shorten the harness soon bc there is way too much wire in there.

Took longer than I thought, but I did end up cleaning up the wiring bc I have an entire wiring harness from another 40 and needed to make the ends of the wires on my 40 the same color/stripe…so now I can see exactly the colors on the wiring diagram…and I needed to solder the wires and put shrink around them to clean it all up.

Also, my HBI turns on and I’ve read that isn’t always the case, but I do have an LED in mine and @CruiserTrash and I were waiting to see if mine was going to work as he makes a solution we were going to try out since mine is an early year.

Looks great! Especially that chrome bezel, that's my favorite part.

I assume the chrome bezel was on earlier 40s…after the ‘Land Cruiser’ stamped bezels…but not sure.

I think it may have been part of a kit. My 75 had a chrome bezel, windshield wiper motor cover and kick vents. It also had the old style chrome push/grill guard bumper bracket bolted to the stk bumper that was popular in the 70's and 80's on many other trucks. I think it all was dealer or land cruiser specific shop installed because of the fasteners used and no extra holes were drilled in the bumper.

my ‘64 did not have a fusible link so I ordered one from @Coolerman. Easy install. Probably will shorten the harness side of the wire later but they are all taped up and didn’t want to get into it today.

My plug for the inspection light was broken..the casing broke at some point. The issue was that the older version is impossible to find and the newer version had the screw holes spaced differently. Easy fix was to drill new holes in the plastic housing. 10 second fix.

The new screws are M4 and the old were SAE I believe as they didn’t quite go into the same thread, but close enough to work.

Bought the seats recently from @clrussell

I wanted to repaint the backs. When I took them off I realized it still had the surround leather on it. Not really an easy way to clean it and reattach so I bought some edge trim..luckily I bought the exact correct fit. Goes on easily, bends around the corners and is pushed in firm so it will never come off by itself. New rear covers and headliner on order.

I painted the backs the same color as my wheels and rear seat frames. Front seat frames will get painted as well. Rustoleum Farm and Implememt Massey Ferguson Grey
