Cream base coat. After much deliberation I decided to go opposite of what the 45LV scheme was (HTT @Land Cruiser Junky Gene’s FJ35 build) and go with cream on top and bottom. That’s just primer in the middle. There will be kind of a nebula green there (I love cruiser greens, but never actually had one). Then clear coat

Gotta remind myself just how bad this thing was too, it’s very gratifying to finally see it coming together. So refreshing to work with an honest body guy!

Beautiful - so cool you are bringing this back to life. I remember seeing the picture of the one by a shack in South America (Peru?) and the old hand drawn 4 picture Toyota advertisement of one of these many years ago. Hope to see her in person

Nathan, l am so glad that you found an honest body shop and selfishly happy with the color choice and position. I have never seen another with this, outside of the 3 original 1960 FJ35 photos. Now there will be two Land Cruisers with this early white or cream on top and bottom. I have a photo collection of all of the FJ28s l've come across through the decades, and this build surpasses them all by a longshot. I believe this will be the nicest FJ28 still to exist. Congratulations and I can't wait see it finished.
