Definitely doing the jail bars! I have a kit im going to be starting with, one of the VW bus kits if I recall. I think I’ll have to make longer bars but the mounts will be handy to have. I don’t think I will worry about the bars directly behind the back seat though those seem too complicated for what they’re worth.Nathan, l am so glad that you found an honest body shop and selfishly happy with the color choice and position. I have never seen another with this, outside of the 3 original 1960 FJ35 photos. Now there will be two Land Cruisers with this early white or cream on top and bottom. I have a photo collection of all of the FJ28s l've come across through the decades, and this build surpasses them all by a longshot. I believe this will be the nicest FJ28 still to exist. Congratulations and I can't wait see it finished.
Are you going to go with the jail bars? If you are I'd be happy to help.
Thanks Brian! I think this is the way we will go tooAll my past LV’s were black firewall, fender and aprons body color!
I would interested a good body shop. Would love to get a bunch of non OEM holes filled and one rust spot fixed on my 73 FST.If anyone in AZ is ever in need of a cruiser guy that seems to be able to do it all (and with honesty and integrity), reach out to me I’ll put you in touch.
Congratulations on your retirement. Hadn't seen your wanted ad for your position filled. You back enjoying NM?I'm pretty sure the engine compartment is black. I retired at the end of July so I can't confirm it. Call 385-385-LCHM and ask if they could take a peek at the red/white 45LV. Tell them I referred you.
Here’s where the black borders delineate next to car color. Thanks Brian! I think this is the way we will go too![]()
