Great looking setup there Zane. Did you add any vents for the rear evaporator on the right rear side? Or do you just not use the rear A/C?
that is really nice. I would love to make some of those....maybe i can sell my third row seating and pay for the job...

Jeff,
There is a very large void that allows for good air flow due to the wheel well humps, so I think it will be fine, but vents would be very easy to add if someone wanted to. I have also never used the rear A/C.

how do you keep the entire storage box down? Is it bolted to the interior in any kind of way?
So you guys in the US haven't got anyone that makes the drawers commercially?
We have maybe a dozen manufacturers here in OZ.
Personally I have a set of outback drawers and believe me they have copped millions of corrugations, potholes and hard core off roading. They are generally all made from light steel with 100kg runners and 19mm ply tops. maybe 35kg all up incl fridge slide.
They can be expensive but you get what you pay for and over here timber systems can and do fall to bits.

Still thinking of building drawers.
Any thoughts of having the access to the front compartments to the front, towards the 2nd row seats, instead of through the top? Say, folding down the whole front wall? For easy access for bulky items w/o removing anything stored on top first. Just folding the seat forward (easier to remove a passenger than cargo).

I gotta question for ya Zane: the metal trim that you have around the edges of the drawers: what is that? Did you just pick it up at Home Depot and then cut it to size?
Depending on how old your kids are you can fit 3 across the 2nd row, we've got two boosters and a big ole Britax in the middle. We have to keep the 3rd row for when the 100 turns into the school bus once a week.
Pardon me if this has already been covered, but I've had all 3 of our car seats in the middle row for the last 8 months. There's more than enough room for our car seats (2 are full forward facing seats, and 1 is a booster seat). I'm pretty confident 3 full car seats will fit side by side.
How did you attach the drawers to the cargo bed?

I've looked at a lot drawers. Both Factory made and do it yourself. These are, by far, the best looking set.
Sure would like to have drawings or sketches to build some just like them.

I just a built a set 3 months ago, trying to get something similar to Zane's which are great. Mine are not as nice...but for a guy with my limited skills and tools...I think they turned out ok and work for me. I have a few sketches and measurments attached to the link below that might help you fab your own set. Best of luck and pm me if you have any questions. Mine is the s***tiest out of all the home made systems but it works haha
I will be taking it apart and putting an aluminum frame, so essentially the only thing left from this build is the top cover
